Instead of saying what I like or dislike, I will give some tips:

*You can no longer get down to this beach. It's not an island, it's really a beach made up of sea shell sand.
*There is an exhibition center which shows you what the sand is made up of, under the microscpe, and you can feel the sand!
*There is a section which you can get down but it is not the nice part of the beach which has been fenced off.

Happy to share about my travels here: http://happyhealthysg.blogspot.sg/

The colour of the water is absolutely beautiful.
Totally worth a visit. The corals on the shore are great to explore. lots of tiny crabs and fishes. Not many people which is great but its along the highway so easy to access. no entrance free.

Sand Island has beautiful coast, public toilets and shell sand exhibition hall
The beautiful sea view is more attractive, especially in the evening when the tide is low.
Enjoy the beautiful sunset and appreciate the intertidal ecology
But the beach next to it has been closed and there is no way to go there. It’s a pity.

Its a just a small sealed off area of the beach. Nothing to see in particular. Not worth making a trip to visit.

Water is very clean and you can go on rocks then see some sea animals. Pretty good and relax place,I didn’t stop too long during lunch time since the sun is very strong. There is a display center that you can understand many different kind of sand. Also free toilet!

The Sand Island has a beautiful white sand beach that (when I visited) is not open to the public. You can view it, but you can't go there and walk on the sand, swim in the sea, etc. They are trying to preserve the beach.

To the side, there is a museum of sorts with massive tubes of sand. The different tubes are different colours and textures, and there are information posters telling you which beaches in Kenting have which kind of sand, if the sand is made up of volcanic rock particles or shell particles, and other fascinating information.

An absolutely white sand beach full of shells with crystal water. Sand island and Longpan Park are my most favorite places in Kenting.

When driving along Kenting Road, this is a stop you should take to view the beautiful scenery. It is not a great place but worth to visit.

This is a small rocky beach with a very nice curved beach. There is also a small museum accompanying the beach to tell you about its formation. Don't expect much, but it's a nice spot to visit on the way to Cape Eluanbi.
