There used to be pretty much nothing on or near the beach but now they have a decent campsite and beach bar area (there were a bunch of trailers you could rent but they were taken away cause they didn't have a permit to have them). The beach isn't the best swimming in the area but it does have the nicest beach in my opinion. I've been going here for years and love it.

If u go from kenting city, head urself on the main road to the west, then turn left at the crossroad with 7-11 (not far from nanwan), it's road 153, then find the sign to 'Maobitou' (猫鼻头, since there is no sign to baishawan all the times) and drive for another like 20min. at the last crossroad, u would see the sign that maobitou is on the left and baishawan (white sand bay, 白沙湾) is straight ahead. voila! u will arrive in 1min. the water is clear, the sand is smooth and white, the umbrella for rent usually costs NT$300 (NT$200 if u r good at bargain, no time limit). however, dont expect the gorgerous pieces, there r only plastic chairs and beers. like most of beaches in taiwan, the wave is quite strong and it goes to deep side very quickly so do watch the kids well. The weekend we went there was just so so so annoying with some local students having some activities (its a very small beach) and in the afternoon, buses of tourists arrived, however, the workday is very quiet and peace. I didnt enjoy the shower place for washing the sands after (so well as the toilet, nasty), costs NT$10 for hands and feet, NT$20 for a private shower room, its just dirty and annoying. recommend to finish a little bit early like 5pm so that u can drive to houbihu (后壁湖) fish market nearby for fresh sashimi.

Been to all the main beaches and this is by far our favorite. It's mush quieter than south bay etc., therefore clean water, more privacy and peace, and there is a safe swim area. You can rent umbrella with chairs for like us$8-10 for a whole day. The last time we tried to go there though, it was closed off because director An Li was filming there. :(. I hear that ever since then, there is now a cafe set up on the beach. There used to be nothing around, hubby used to walk aways to bring back fried rice and noodles for lunch ad choices were so limited. But we will always miss this beautiful beach.

I stayed at Nanwan Resort and hired a bike in Kenting.
I enjoyed the tranquility all the way from Kenting to White Sand Bay, and then stopped by and bought my movenpick icec ream on the road. It seemed quite safe to go cycling in Kenting. A nice way to explore this lovely town.

nice beach with clean water, less crowded and better than South Bay- I think. Don't miss the shell beach reserve adjacent to it- pristine!

Over at white sand bay, the water is clear, sand is less rough than other places and the waves are big. You can rent umbrellas from the people there or just simply have a long walk. Quite popular as many people go there.

The sand looks normal at 1st glance if u're unsure of the history. Closer look, the Sand actually has shells. Natural seashells from the sea!

Beautiful beach to chill and go for a swim! It’s more relaxing than South Beach (Dawan) which is very crowded and is less attractive. Can be crowded at the weekends.

Nice clean beach. You can swim all day or get jet skis or just lie there and take in the sun. Just a few km from the town and so peaceful.

Are there any water sport activities in 3rd / 4th week of December?

We don't see anyone playing any sport activities at white sand bay, only kids swimming. We had a driver waiting for us, so most places just touch and go. My son went snookering but at another place, and the experience was good.
How much is the entrance fee
