Lovely park with deer around
Sep 2019
This is a lovely park, with wildlife! Saw deer in the meadow when I arrived and monkeys the next day! There are fireflies and glowing mushrooms if you like to see sometihng different!

The tour guides are all volunteer who are local elderly residence from different background- so don't expect a professional scientist or professional tour guide but a local people who carrys local culture.

Very nice park
Nov 2018
Actually we skipped the national park and visited only Sheding. I hired a scooter in Kenting and was driving each morning to the reserve. It's the best time as there are almost no people there, so it's easier to spot wildlife - especially deers. Local birdwatchers organize raptores counting (we were in October) and the results are presented on one of the towers. During few days we spotted deers, monkeys, lizards, some birds including eagles and butterflies.

The paths are rather easy, the towers provide panoramic views over the reserve toward the sea. Entry is free of charge.

Love this Park!
Apr 2019 • Family
Spice up your hiking experience with a scooter-ride up and down the mountain! It is fun - and safe (as you don't have to share the road with too many cars!) Oh yes, make sure you lease a gas-powered scooter !

Watch the formosa Monkeys from the Verdant Pavillion
Jan 2019 • Family
The park entrance is free and make sure to climb up to the Verdant Pavillion, where they are spectacular sea views and from where we could see many formosa monkeys from reasonably close.
Nice trail up and down, need good sport shoes though.
Indications are not always clear, so better make a picture of the map at the entrance.

Interesting natural park
Dec 2018 • Family
Quite a deserted park. Interesting rock formations. Prepare to hike quite a bit. There are slopes up and down. Very hot even in December.

Very interesting - worth a visit
Apr 2018 • Family
Very beautiful - forest and rock formations. It is less busy than the national park to the west. Worth a visit.

Nov 2017 • Friends
This park is less developed than the forest recreation area and had lovely natural forest, beautiful views and many, many butterflies. We even saw a deer. Free admission.
