Neglected shrine to faded star
Mar 2015 • Couples
My itinerary has this as Theresa Deng Memorial Museum so hopefully the name hasn't been lost in translation.
Supposedly Taiwan's most famous entertainer I expected something like Elvis Presley's museum in America not the dusty run down shed bulging with irrelevant personal items and a few clapped out cars. I guess if she had reached deity status seeing her hairbrush and nail clippers may be thrilling to a fan but to me it was beyond boring.
Fortunately the building backed onto a lane so my tour group escaped for photo opportunities of some light industry.
Avoid.

Teresa should deserved a better museum
Just because of that stubborn brother of her, Teresa Teng legacy were left to rot in this filthy warehouse. A national icon don't deserve a shady museum such as this. Someone has to do something to preserve these actifacts or else they are gone forever very soon.

Not worth to pay and visit the place. Too commercial with too many main land China tour groups. Local or tourist from those countries with Chinese usually won't visit this place.

For fans only
It is a good place to visit for fans of Teresa Teng. This place showcases her belongings such as her family portraits, dress, piano, handbags, souvenirs she collected, her cars, etc. A "window" for one to catch a glimpse of her personal artifacts. However, it does not have any literature that talks about her love life. More about her family and her career.

This museum is self funded and setup by her brother in memory of her. Thus the place is pretty run down. Visitors can purchase her cd, dvd and her biography as a souvenir and support the upkeep of the museum.

A short 30 mins self tour will suffice.
