Decent bowling alley
Dec 2014 • Friends
This is not the ONLY bowling alley in Hisnchu (there is one I went to once in the county area, an old and somewhat run down place). That being said, this one is very accessible (being in big city) and well appointed.
The alley itself is clean and well maintained, and on weekdays you can pretty much play when you want, even on weekends the wait is not usually too long.
Vibrant colors and murals certainly add to the experience, and there is an area for kids bowling also.
The bowling alley is adjacent to the Toms World (video arcade) and baseball batting nets, so there are a few things to do whilst you're here. Its location in a mall also means easy access to food etc.

A must if you like bowling!

Brand new, stuff very helpful, and a great place to spend a couple of hours with your family or your friends.
Don't visit it on a Saturday or Sunday evening - too crowded and you will need to wait a long time before something is available.
Good thing, though, they call you on your cell - so you can go, have a walk around Big City and come back.

Excellent only because it Exists

There IS bowling in Hsinchu!

Atop the Big City Mall, behind Tom's World, hides the only bowling alley in the known vicinity. The pin setter-upper can be problematic at times, but over all it's a good experience. There is a
"normal" bowling area and a "VIP" area. Both are quite equal except one happens in a separate room.

You can bring your own beer, or get some imports from the bar. The rates are reasonable, and the music videos (though cheesy at times) are a fun compliment to the party atmosphere. If you're a serious bowler, this might not be the place for you. If you don't mind that sometime you get extra pins on your score, then you'll enjoy this place very much.

Of course, shoes are available, ball come in a variety of weights, and the staff are really helpful and friendly (limited English).
