This is a nice uphill walk. Lots of steps, but doable. A resting areas along the way up. Pretty view of the city from the top.

The Eighteen Peaks are not steep but lushly green. The main walking area is paved and not challenging. Side trails are more demanding.
The area has a friendly vibe, very busy early in the morning as local people start their day with a refreshing walk.

Near the city area. Fresh air. Slopes are not too steep so it is suitable for all ages to hike. Challenging routes are available if you are feeling adventurous.

This is not really a place for the big hikers...the ones who want to get dirty and explore and feel like they have been able to get in nature. This a place where you can walk around with other people. You see people selling vegetables or fruit as you walk around. You will also see people doing their exercise or dancing together in little pavilions which just makes you smile. You also get to hear different traditional instruments being played. It's a nice very relaxing walk.

I walked here from near Hsinchu main train station, it's about a 30 minute walk, mostly uphill. Once you enter the park, there are many steps to the top, stop and enjoy the shady areas and the birds. I exited on the south side, across from the Botanical Garden, which I entered and that area seems a bit neglected.
But 18 Peaks is full of pagodas and people enjoying the place, there are great views from the top.
Buses return from near the Garden to the City center on Baoshan Road.

Very popular trail in Hsinchu. Its very easy one but yes its beautiful. U can spent more than 3 hrs there. Parking felicities are there. All necessary amenities are there including food and water. So just go and enjoy. And dont miss any points. Its full of greenery inside the heart of the city.

While this hike was unexpected to have taken during the hot month of July, it was a peaceful retreat away from the normal hustle and bustle of work. With only a few miles away from the science park, it’s definitely worth the walk to get to the base and a small hike to the top to see a beautiful view of the city and country below. A definitive place to visit for the outdoor type.
