Japanese-themed garden (which wasn’t exactly very well developed) with lots of huts with specialty offerings. If looking for a gift, there’s a good chance you can get something from one of the many huts.

Essentially a touristy place worth going. If you include time for some tea time (I recommend a shop somewhere in the middle which sells delightful mocha ice mountain as well as crepes), you can spend about 1.5 to 2 hours here.

Has got free Wi-Fi, as with most touristy attractions in Taiwan.

Chiayi is full of Japanese style houses. This village type area is full of Vintage Japanese houses in which they sell souvenirs, and many more.... Restaurants and coffee shops provide decent food and drinks. A place to spend some quality time for young and old.

Great job a preserving the Japanese era style housing with the Hinoki woods. The garden is very pretty, you can also see the old train station. There are also some cute shops to check out.

Very peaceful and beautiful Japanese style cafes and shops as an oasis in the city. Historically significant.

We came by and saw the beautiful place with Japanese style buildings. Went in a couple of stores but then it started to rain, heavily. We waited for the rain to stop but it didn't have any sign of stopping so we left. Just have to make it another time to visit this unique spot again in the future.

Great place to spend time with family and friends. I've been here for five times and really enjoyed the historical buildings and delicious food(especially the waffles). You can buy cute souvenirs and try on traditional Japanese clothing(but the price is a bit high). Besides, the traffic is quite convenient.

Chiayi is pretty small town..nothing very much to see if you have been to other cities in Taiwan. We went there for an overnight stay so that we can go alishan the next morning. The only place worth going , in my opinion , is Hinoki Village.
There is so much greenery and the buildings are Japanese in architecture. There are a few cute shops and cosy cafes to visit.
We enjoyed a good stroll there and end up buying some cute Japanese ornaments. For a moment, I thought I am in Japan.

This is a great place to spend some time while you could do some souvenir and snacks shopping. It’s a nice place for some photos taking.
