I have been to there for many times. There is always beautiful when I go to every time. I often walk along the lake to see the view and buy 10NTD fish food to feed the Koi in the lake. Besides, you can rent the bicycle to bike around the lake. Moreover, there are a temple on the foothills. Walking to the temple is a good exercise, it approximately take 30 minutes. I once saw a eagle hovering in the sky at there. The temple overlook the lake, it is very beautiful. If you have a chance, you must go to the lake and temple.

Nothing much, but relaxing to cycle round the lake. F&B options mainly cafes. 1hr without meals more than enough.

Went to this lake to do some family activity. What greeted us at the entrance was literally hundreds of electrical bicycles (ie no paddling). Rental price for a 4 seater was abt 200NTD, which is definitely very afforable, and it comes in different designs, we took the duck but there are minnie mouse, minions as well.
A round trip around the lake takes about 50 minutes, including stoppages to take photos. We went on a Saturday and it is definitely a place to bring the family.
A tip would be to bring along with you some fish food or duck food as there are many fishes that will swim to you for fun.
Also there is a boat ride within the lake itself which is chargeable, but i think the family will have more fun with the e-bikes

Best place to visit if you are visiting Yilan. Wonderful place for the family to bond and talk while one the power assisted family bike. Sits 4. Can squeeze in 2 adults and 3 kids at the back if you want. Costs 400twd for an hour. Normal leg power bikes also available. Cost unknown, never ask. Beautiful weather in december although very slight drizzle. A small adventure for the kids to be in the rain, given that we come from singapore, a concrete forest. Store selling snacks are available. Didn't see any sit down restaurant. There are also cafe selling cakes and coffee there. Apparently a teddy bear theme cafe. Anyway, beautiful place, lots of fun. Ducks swimming in the lake very close to you. Visited in december so cold weather. Don't know about experience if you come during the hot months. Would be sorching i reckon. So no comments.
Hope this helps in your planning.
Can come after visting yinong farm if you book a driver from taipei.
Have fun!!!

There are many food & bicycle rental shops at the entrance.
Many types of bikes available for rent at reasonable price. Tandems & 4 seaters and motorised ones too.
Ride round the lske is easy. Some up slope and some gentle down slopes where you just relax & glide down.
Stop in the middle to walk into the small island via a suspension bridge.
Cafe at the exit side too with good food.
May be crowded during weekends & holidays.

We stayed in a Minsu by the lake and enjoyed the view from our room. When it wasn't too hot, we ventured out and hired bikes and went 3 times round the small lake within 1 hour. There were bikes of all shapes and sizes including motorized ones and our 2 families had fun racing each other. Coffee shops along the shore were good. Nice clear water with fish swimming near the shore. Take mosquito repellants!

A quiet and beautiful lake for a nice afternoon stroll. The lake is not huge but there are electric bikes available for rent at a reasonable price. Interesting experience to ride an electric motored bike around the Lake.

Meihua (Plum Blossom) Lake is near Luodong. It will take you at least an hour to walk around the lake. There are pedal bikes for hire for up to 6 people, and in a variety of shapes such as princess carriages, pumpkins, surrie-with-a-fringe-on-the-top, ducks etc. Great fun for the family and for kids. The cycle track goes around the lake and has slight uphill struggle, so there are areas of hard pedaling! There are various stalls selling snacks and drinks and a restaurant selling more substantial light meals.b the backdrop of the green mountains make this lake a wonderful photo opportuniy for camera enthusiasts.

The lake and surroundings are a great place to visit. You can either walk or rent a powered bicycle to go around the lake. Great for families with kids.

Nice park with a lake in the middle, lots of locals on Sunday morning enjoying day out with family. Lots of different bicycles/ pedicabs for rental. Place is not big, probably can finish cycling round the lake in 10 mins. Possible to walk on the footpath as well. Lots of stalls selling snacks and drinks. Great for picnic.

Since it is not very far a way from Yilan, you can take a taxi there. There is public bus going to Meihua Lake but you have to wait a long time for it.
