This was a beautiful place to stroll around and slow down the frantic pace of life. The open space and welcoming people made the visit very enjoyable. One of the highlights of my visit to Taiwan so far.

Advice for 10 days trip with kids; please (4 Replies)
Hi everyone; I plan our family trip to Taiwan. We travel with 3 kids; that the youngest is 4 years old; so I plan short visits; especially in nature sites; some temples & folklor villages maybe.I try to avoid too long rides with the transportation; and we will prefer short walking trails . This is our itinerary that I started to plan; I will be grateful for any advice: 18/04 landing at 14:00 at Taipei from Seoul. Maybe a visit in Longshan temple in the afternoon. 19/04 A tour near...More

This itinerary needs quite a lot of refinement, particularly if you want to use public transport. I spent four and a half weeks in Taiwan late last year and used public transport almost entirely. However, I did a lot of research beforehand to ensure that I had allowed sufficient time to get from place to place and could make the necessary connections. Even so, there were some places where what I had planned didn't quite work out. One of the most difficult areas to negotiate is Alishan. If...More

Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum To Lotus Pond (1 Replies)
Hi! Is the best way via public transportation from the museum to lotus pond to take bus 8501 to Zuoying station and take the MRT rest of the way to the pond? Specifically, we want to go see the Pagodas. Thanks

8501 to Xinzuoying, then either walk/taxi there or train to Zuoying TRA station. Alternatively use Google Maps... https://www.google.com/maps/dir/22.6869243,120.3083503/22.6801304,120.2917112/@22.6887757,120.2823399,14z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m6!4m5!2m3!6e0!7e2!8j1539780720!3e3 If you look at the map, the lake is very close to Xinzuoying station.

By E-Da bus 高鐵左營線 (8501-經義大世界延駛佛光山) from HSR Zuoying Station (platform 3 of the bus stand)to Fo Kuang Shan (佛光山), about 35 mins ride. This E-da bus goes to both Fo Kuang Shan 佛光山 and Buddha Memorial Centre 佛陀纪念馆
