We come here to see calla lilies! We took bus 9 and 29 from beitou MRT station. It took us around 30mins to get there. It's good to spend an afternoon with fiends or family. You can buy fresh fruits and various plants there.

Popular for years, the Zhuzihu area is famous for its special landscape, flowers, restaurants and shops. Alocasia is especially beautiful and plenty here.

When we asked the staff at the YMS visitor center for an afternoon hike recommendation, both the guides were really excited about Zhuzihu, so we gave it a try. From the visitor center, it was a 20min walk, always closely following the main road, thus not very enjoyable. We arrived at a parking place, from which it was another 10min walk through a small park with some water lillies surrounded by a fence. Finally we arrived at the actual place that had a bigger field of fenced water lillys, with people walking around inside (for extra fee). The most special thing there was the distant view onto Xiaoyoukeng.
Summary: very popular among Chinese tourists - if you're into water lillies, perhaps worth a visit, otherwise definitely use the time more wisely (for a more beautiful hike in YMS, e.g. Qixingshan peak hike).

From Beitou MRT take bus S.09 or 29 to the village. It snakes through the pass around 45 minutes to reach there. It's strongly recommended that to check the blooming season before visiting.

A quaint local farming village in the mountain of Yangmingshan is the home to Yangmingshan’s Calla Lillies. Original a lava-dammed lake created by the surrounding volcanoes and become suitable and very futile for farming. Other than the Calla Lilly, there is a bamboo forest to explore and other local vegetables farming of the village. For TWD100 you can go into the Calla Lilly farm to pluck five stalks of your choice yourself. Local village home cooking lunch is available from the verities of fresh crunchy vegetables comes direct from the farm and the most popular dish of this restaurant is free range chicken herbal soups and the steamed taro and the sweet potatoes desert comes free in the package of set lunch of TWD2500 - 3000 enough for 10 pax

Lovely farmland like area where calla lilies are grown and sold.

Plenty of nice restaurants and street food stalls as well to grab a bite to eat.

It was absolutely freezing when we visited late March so be sure to rug up or bring a jacket in case.

Very scenic background. Multiple farms with rows of flowers. You will have to pay to enter the farm if you want to get up close with the flowers. Each is a tiny farm, so best to select which one u want to enter to take photos before paying the entry.

We paid entering one of the farms under the impression that we could roam the entire stretch but were disappointed to find out that the small fence divided neighboring plot of land, which had far bigger flowers.

There are smoking mountains in the background, makes good for backdrop in photos!

Plenty of lily to see but to get close you need to pay as all of them belongs to private owner. We didn't pay so just walk along outside the farm and take photo.
As driver told us, during lily festival , they do have road restriction or sometime like that. Many people even just on the 1st day and its a weekday (Friday) can't image if you come on a weekend.

There were few regions within zuzhihu and the farms region which we went to was Xiahu.

This also is where the bus stops.

While this is not the season yet, there were already some calla lilies blooming and ready to be plucked. Bought some back for displaying in the hotel room and a truly great experience.

There are a number of restaurants in Xiahu and thus after or before the calla lilies farms tour, have a hot soupy meal is a great relaxing experience for an afternoon in cooling Yangmingshan climate.

There are buses from Beitou station. Although the bus trip was long, the road was scenic. The calla lily field was open to public and the flowers started to bloom from now till May.
