I communicated with Jay on line while planning our trip to Guanacaste Costa Rica. Jay was extremely responsive and helped me plan our private tours. We booked airport transportation to our vrbo house, and day trips to Palo Verde, arenal, monteverde, Rincon De la vieja, turtle watching, private panga snorkeling and group snorkeling. Everything was amazing! Jay arranged pick up and drop off from our front door! Memo was our favorite guide. He speaks excellent English and told us a lot about Costa Rica. My husband is an avid birdwatcher. Memo helped spot birds and knew where to take us. Memo never rushed us and was always cheerful. All of the drivers made us feel safe on the roads. Jay communicated with us during our trip. I can't thank Jay enough for helping plan this wonderful time in Costa Rica. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Thank you Jay!

We have just returned from Costa Rica where we went with Tour Guanacaste on the ultimate safari experience. Our guide was friendly and helpful and let us go entirely at our own pace. The tour included a trip to the safari park and the Diamante sanctuary and lunch and it was really good value and worth every penny. Thank you

I used Tour Guanacaste for a boat day in January for my bday. It was perfect. The crew we had and team that put this together did an amazing job of ensuring we had a great day out on the water. They took picked us up in a local beach (Ocotal) and took us out to go snorkeling, explore some parts of Costa Rica and enjoy food, drinks, and music. I can't say enough about how special our trip was and how much I will look forward to using them again when I return back to Costa Rica.

We used Tour Guanacaste for a day trip from the RIU Resort area in Playa Matalapo to Arenal. The van ride was 3+ hours long one way and was comfortable with air conditioning. While in Arenal, we hiked at the Arenal Observatory Lodge over hanging bridges and past waterfalls, then had lunch and went to Eco Termales Hot Springs. Our family of four was accompanied by a driver and a tour guide who were both friendly. The destinations/activities were lovely and this would be a 5 star review EXCEPT....
1) Tour guide got us lost while hiking. Had no idea where we were and was referencing the map constantly. Based on his reaction to some of the sites we saw, I believe it may have been his first time there. He was taking pictures as enthusiastically as we were. Nice guy, but not what I paid over $600 for. I expected a guide that knew exactly what he was doing. After what ended up being two hours of hiking, without water, we were all very parched.
2) Organization was poor. At every single stop we had issues. They weren’t expecting us, didn’t know who we were, fee wasn’t prepaid. Really annoying and unusual for a well known tour company in the region...to the point we were uncomfortable and questioning if we got in the right van (to ourselves.)
3) Saw some unique birds, tour guide didn’t know what they were/names/etc.
In contrast, we used Maleku Tours for two other day trips and had a remarkable experience with knowledgeable, professional guides. Seamless experiences. I would definitely recommend them instead.

Unfortunately, I have to provide a negative review. I booked the "Jungle & Mountains" buggy tour through Tour Guanacaste, which was supposed to provide us with a 4-person buggy so my whole family could ride together. I confirmed my reservation multiple times, including the day before our tour. When we arrived at the tour operator (Congo Trail), they had no record of our reservation and the was no availability for the buggy as their buggy's were already booked on other tours. Since there was no buggy available, I opted to take my 11 year old in tandem with me on an ATV, and my wife and daughter did not go on the tour. The tour provided by Congo Trail was great and my son had a blast. However, Tour Guanacaste is just a booking agent in this case, and they messed up the booking process so my wife and daughter could not participate. You would be better off booking directly with the actual tour operator, Congo Trail, so you don't risk a mistake on your reservation.

We do understand how upset you are about you buggy and we did offer you our apologies multiple times. We did offer you an alternative which you did accept. You communicated how angry you were only once you returned to your resort. Once again we do apologize for the inconvenience. As you agreed to when you signed our terms and conditions: The Client acknowledges by booking a product and/or agreeing to travel with Tour Guanacaste that the nature of this type of travel requires considerable flexibility and acknowledges that they will permit reasonable alterations to the product and/or itinerary by Tour Guanacaste. The Client acknowledges their understanding of the route, schedules, itineraries, amenities, and mode of transport may be subject to change without prior notice due to circumstances or events, which may include sickness or mechanical breakdown, incidents in the location where the product will be operated, flight cancellations, strikes, events emanating from political disputes, entry or border difficulties, extreme weather and other unpredictable or unforeseeable circumstances which are beyond the reasonable control of Tour Guanacaste.

We arranged a private tour for 2 adults and 2 children ages 7 and 11 with Greg before arriving in the area. It was simple to book the ATV tour online and Greg was responsive to email and was able to give us the family friendly tour we were after. Trails were family friendly yet still exciting, beaches were beautiful and a blast to ATV on and both the kids and adults had a fantastic time and hope to return in the future. Thanks for making this an incredible experience!

Spent a week in Guanacaste and I part of going on vacation I like the least is setting up what I'm going to be doing for my trip. It feels like such a process going through and finding the best companies and options for everything to do. Luckily these guys can cover everything for you. I ended up having a great conversation over email with one of the reps and they helped me set up the three tours I wanted to do while in CR, and I was so happy with the service I ended up booking my transfer to the airport to go home with them as well.
Highly recommended for anything you want to do in Guanacaste.

Booking with Tour Guanacaste was my best Costa Rican experience! I was highly impressed with how quick they helped me to organize the tours for my whole family. The tours were all punctual and the guides kept everyone entertained. We saw so many of the sights on our wish list and it was so relaxing not having to find our own way around! We definitely recommend this booking system and will book other tours next time we go!

The ATV was definitely an adventure. Tony and Roy made sure we sure the most beautiful parts of costa rica. We even stop that the beach and went swimming. He took our pics, provided water. I felt so safe and the community loves him and so do we.
