My comments are about the night tour to see the bioluminescence by kayak. We kayaked to a beautiful white sand beach around 4 pm, hung around the beach for a few hours until it was dark to see the bioluminescent plankton which was really pretty....More

It is a beautiful nature reserve with wildlife and few people. Entrence fee is 10 USD and kids 5 USD. It is easy to spot monkeys and other animals. Just walk around the different trails - most of them are easy to moderate. The one...More

The reserve is full of wildlife, probably the place where you can spot different species of mammals in a short walk: cappuccino and howler monkeys, raccoons, deer, pacas, coatis... Also lots of birds and reptiles. Several trails are available and the beach is very nice...More

This is a darn neat place. Not touristy or crowded when we were there. The tour facilities are somewhat basic,so, if you're into glitz, this may not be your place. Beach is large and clean. While we were at the "welcome" area and before we...More

Wonderful location on a scalloped shape beach with miles of well marked trails with plentiful wildlife. We saw two different monkey species and a great variety of birds including scarlet macaws. We've been here twice and will return again if we visit the Nicoya. It's...More

Arrived at park opening with a local guide, arranged by Hotel Vistas las Islas. We saw a good variety of wildlife (lots of crazy monkeys, a huge variety of birds, iguanas- including ones that walk on water-, kopis, many deer, frogs, a few others). We...More

This is a park a bit outside the most common paths taken by tourists. You can often find the place to be empty or almost empty. Lot of nature and a quite long beach with calm sea to enjoy. Space enough to walk as well...More

If you like nature as we do you should not miss Curu. The hikes, the closeness to Tortuga island and the animal refugee makes this place a perfect day stay. Don't miss it.

Family members spent the day close to Capuchin and howler monkeys, and photographing the pelicans fishing. Kayaks available, good resources, good hiking trails. Interesting for all ages. Good value for the day.

Spent the day at this park. Great hiking trails, saw howler monkeys, parrots, capuchin monkeys, crabs on the beach. Went out snorkeling and the best was the bioluminescent night tour with Juan to do evening snorkeling, a stay on a white sand beach to watch...More

We will be staying at Los Delfines. Can we drive to the park? How far is it? One site said you can't drive all of the way there on the road. What should we bring? Can we access the beach from there?

You shouldn't have any trouble driving to Curu National Park from where you are staying. You're about a 15 minute drive from the park and you'll pass the entrance just driving down the main road. Bring cash or colones (but... More
