Very good day out

We visited the island when we signed up for a snorkelling tour. There was one big rock we were allowed to snorkel around. Poor visibility when we were there an no fishes that did catch our interest. The island itself had a nice beach but it was not fun to pay 1 $ to use the special facility for people... More

My family and I (5 adults) chartered a boat/ captain and chef out of Pochote for a trip to Tortuga Island - fantastic. The duals names were Captain Toba and Chef Veronica. They made the trip to Tortuga Island fantastic. The snorkeling was good with relatively clear water (ebbing tide better than flooding tide), time on the beach enjoying the... More

Beautiful beach, good service, clean toilets, only a small negative thing: the sun bed's back keeps bouncing up, when we wanted it to lay down. It can be smart to bring swimming shoes because of the corals in the waterline. Perfect day at Tortuga Island!

This is a long day out. I travelled from San Jose and being the first pick-up left at 5.45am and went with Calyspso Cruises, see my review on them for full details of the day. On Tortuga Island you will get about four and a half hours. There are various water activities you can do or just laze on the... More

My family of 4 took a private boat from Tambor bay to Tortuga. We saw dolphins, whales! and great natural rock formations on the trip to the island ( about 45 minutes fromTambor). Snorkeling was good, lunch was provided in the tour and was well prepared and presented Island style. Very tasty! Tortuga has one of the best souvenir stores... More

Incredible place! You can walk for hours along the coast or take the trail located just along the coast that is in the forest. Be sure you do not miss seeing the Jesus Crist Tree - incredible. You will enjoy meeting locals along the walk and if you're lucky they may offer you a seat and cold beer!

Good snorkeling nearby and a fine beach. Very popular with boat tours and may be busy. Pay toilets. Primitive facilities and most of the island is private.

Just came back from Isle of Tortuga tour. It was very well organized. Awesome food! Calypso crew was fantastic. The only down flaw that Calypso had and may not be responsible for, is that the company who organized our tour, had misinformed us by telling us that there was a hike, and close up with tropical birds. Neither of this... More
