The waterfall is about 8 meters high, and it's covered with a green layer of moss. It is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Romania, being unique in the way the water falls over the rock. The waterfall is amazing and a must see!

We made 2 hours trip from Valiug to see the waterfall. We were a little disappointed: we saw many more beautiful waterfalls in Romania, to mention just Duruitoarea in Ceahlau, Valul Miresei from Stana de Vale and Ruset and Vanturatoarea from Valea Cernei. If you...More

Most waterfalls I've been to aren't covered in moss, so it was nice to see the interaction between the water and the moss. It had been snowing and there was lots of water, clear glacial water as opposed to the blueish tinge you see in...More

The driving is long but Ok. The cascade is unique with that mushroom shape and the origin in an 'izbuc'. You can walk to izbuc to see how the water comes from under a rock wall. You also need a fisheye lens to take good...More

The waterfall and the surrounding area is small but absolutely beautiful! Worth seeing it for every nature lover. There is no parking lot and there is space only for 2-3 cars on the road side. Also go up to see the cave and the surroundings.

4 stars for the waterfall, 1 star for the facilities. The waterfall itself is beautiful and can be visited for free. Just don't expect to see what you see on the Internet. The water is not magically blue and it actually looks like a normal...More

A portion of the road is indeed a bit winding, but in a good condition and not really unsafe if you drive carefully. The place is also way less crowded than in the summer. Overall, I think it's worth going even in March... More

Best thing is to hire a car although there might be some coach companies that offer trips to Bigar waterfall from Bucharest. Roads are very good to get there and plenty to see on the way.
