The area
Address
Neighborhood: Banqiao / Zhonghe / Yonghe District
Banqiao district is the center of administration, shopping and transportation of New Taipei City, encompassing shopping, tasting local snacks, and experiencing traditional and night markets. Here is also the first choice of Christmas celebration in Taiwan- Christmasland in New Taipei City. Within this modern complex, a garden architecture full of Chinese tradition “the Lin Family Mansion and Garden” is hidden, complete with attics, pavilions and artificial mountains and fountains. Zhonghe and Yonghe not only have world class soybean milk, but also have places with a rather artistic lifestyle. Near MRT Yongan Market Station, there is the only old document repair book hospital in Taiwan - the National Taiwan Library Book Hospital bookbinding room. It has been here since Taisho year 4 of the Japanese occupation, which is extremely rare! In addition, the tiny crisscrossing streets of these two cultural districts still holds many interesting bookstores waiting for your discovery.

Important transit station for New Taipei
Feb 2020
Banqiao Station has come up in the world, it looks both bright and functional. You can buy High Speed Rail (HSR) tickets and also tickets for trains going down the island. You can access the Circular LIne. Be warned, the Blue Line MRT station is quite a long way away. However, there are many eateries to keep the worms from biting.

Good Cheap Eats in the Food Court
Feb 2020
The station has shopping and many restaurants. There are several food courts popular with Taiwanese. Prices for a good meal of noodles and buns, or vegetarian fare, are in the US$3 range. Lots of bakeries, too.

Surprisingly good

Besides being the Hsr/TRA Tain/mrt station, it houses Global mall where I found shops selling fashion, homeware, sportswear, toys, restaurants, a theme playground, Cosmed, family mart, souvenirs, etc.

And what I really like was their good range of bakeries and eateries including a Hong Kong dim sum shop, a sandwich specialty shop, Tai Cheong egg tart, chicken and the yummy TRA and Global mall rice bentos amongst others.

Convenient transport hub

We were staying at the nearby hotel Hilton and used the station to take the high speed rail back to the airport. It is easy to use and staff helped us in English.

A station full of travel options
Jul 2019 • Couples
A large station providing access to MRT (subway), regular rail and high speed rail. From this station you have access to all of Taiwan. If you are not a Chinese speaker, the first time you access the station it might take you a try or two to get where you want to be. But it is well marked in English and once you get the process down, it is easy and straight forward. It, like all stations, is very clean and efficient.

I was impressed by the size of this train station, clean and clear to where you want to go, either light rail or high speed train.

Nice Metro station combined with train service
Apr 2019 • Solo
This is a very large station. Once I go the hang of it, I was able to take the subway all over Taipei. It's clean. Has lots of restaurants. I found ti confusing to find the door that was nearest my hotel but that was after walking inside the building all over.

I felt very safe using the subway.

Transportation Options, Restaurants and Shopping

Our hotel was nearby so we used the Banqiao Station daily for metro, bus (right next door) and train. The Station also includes many restaurants (including a food court) on the multiple levels and shopping.

Nice station in New Taipei City
Apr 2019 • Family
This is a combined MRT-Bannon line (Taipei Metro), THSR (Taiwan High-Speed Railway) and TRA station in the heart of New Taipei City. All 3 are very user friendly for ticketing and navigation.

The station itself is relatively new, with most recent updates happening in 2008, with more shops and stores inside than your typical Taiwan stations.

Within a block of hotels and restaurants in the more upscale and modern New Taipei City. Yet you can be in Taipei in a matter of 10 minutes via MRT.
