About
I'm an official tour leader and geologist and I perform nature, culture and geology tours in SE Spaing, ranging from 3 hours and full day trips to tailor made tours of several days. I've no phisical establishment, my office is my home in the villige of El Pozo de los Frailes, and I have fixed meeting points in several places where the usual tours are performed.

David was such a friendly, personable and exceptionally knowledgable guide. It felt like such a privilege to have a full day with such a regional expert. He made our day tour precisely to our specifications, and we learned a huge about about the area - while also having fun. He was brilliant at adapting his insights to include our six year old, and worth his weight in gold for local recommendations We would highly recommend him to anyone who loves Cabo de Gata and wants to know more about it. Muchas Gracias, David, y hasta luego!

The guide, David Monge is a very well informed and smart guide. He took the time to explain things to a group of mixed nationalities and interests. He has taken time to explain and shown birds and places. I absolutely recommend the tour by 4*4 car. Thanks David and Miriam

We had a very interesting half day tour with David . The group was diverse and the ages ranged from 6 to 50 +. David was able to cater to everyones interest level and needs. He expertly combines nature, geology and culture in his tour. I highly recommend it if you are looking to have some fun, see some outstanding views and learn at the same time .

David was outstanding. He knew the entire area inside and out, and took us on the hike of a lifetime as we went along the base of the cliffs at low tide to get to beautiful secluded beaches that are otherwise hard to get to. His knowledge of the area, local economy, and food places to eat made for a fantastic day. This was our best excursion by far on a two week trip that took us along the southern coast of Spain. I wound highly recommend him to anyone looking to see the must see spots that tour busses won't take you to. Thank you David!

Even though we were only two guests on that day, David took us on the tour around Rodalquilar. We learned a lot about the volcanic history of the area, and about the mines and the gold mining process in the 20th century, as well as some interesting bits about the local flora and fauna.
We always enjoy being guided around by experts, and David is exceptionally good at this. His passion for geology and this particular place is really contagious. If you are in the area, don't miss the chance!

We went on two half-day tours with David, and they were brilliant. Not only is he an expert geologist, but also an excellent teacher. I learnt so much about the volcanic history of the area, including earth movements and even coral reefs. (I'm also interested in bird-watching, and he's also an expert on birds, plants and wildlife in general. It could hardly have been better. Limit of people at the moment is 6 visitors in one vehicle.

Thank you so much for your words, they really help me to go on. Just mentioning that larger groups can also be arranged for walks or hiring another vehicle. Regards!

We joined David for a 4-wheel drive tour of the volcanoes and wetlands of the Cabo de Gata. We were a very mixed group by age (10-73), but we all got something out of it. For me, one of the highlights was seeing the flamingo´s, whereas for the older members of the group, it was the fantastic views and the 4-wheel drive aspect of the tour, along with the wealth of information imparted by David. All in all, it was an excellent and enjoyable evening.

I booked the tour having read the reviews on trip advisor. The four hours were well paced and the time was filled with alot of interesting facts and sights.
Firstly, David speaks excellent English. He even understands the english sense of humour. Our tour comprised of my husband two daughters aged 16 and 20 and a 20 year old male family friend. David was most engaging and extremely knowledeable. The equipment that the 4 x 4 had ment that the experience was packed with great sights and sounds. We all thoroughly enjoyed looking through the binoculars at the pink flamingos as well as hearing about the origins of the mermaid reef. We all enjoyed the tour.

We joined David for the Volcano Adventure walking tour and had a terrific time. Our 3 kids, aged 13, 12 and 8 all loved it. David is tremendously knowledgeable about both the geology but also the flora and fauna of the area. More importantly he is able to share that knowledge in a way that engages you, makes you think, and helps you to really understand what you are seeing and why. We loved seeing the garnets, and working out the clues around us about how the volcano formed. highly recommended!
