A large group of us from very experienced to novice skiers based ourselves here. For me as a very inexperienced skier there were plenty of runs to keep me going and maintain my confidence. For the black runners there was just about enough challenge for the week. We stayed further down the valley and got the free bus service each... More

Lovely little town. Family friendly but the prices of restaurants and bars are aprox 20% higher than alph d huez. No apres ski. And perfect gondolas to the mountains.

With its easy link to the Alpe d'Huez ski area, this is a lovely place to base yourself. There are ski areas for all abilities and some excellent off piste. Slightly away from the busy Alpe D'Huez village it is quieter less hectic place. They have managed the snow well so that even at the beginning of the season ,... More

Oz is part of the Alpe d'Huez Grande Domaine and has fantastic lift access to 2100 by two high speed lifts. in high season, this week, I arrived at the lift at 9am and at 9.05 was being whisked to 2100. the snow at 2100 was good, Mont Frais runs in good condition all last week. from 2100 the cable... Do not go here if you want to party, there is not much to do. The location is perfect for families with young children. The ski area is pretty big with a couple of challenging slopes. For beginners there are lots of slopes as well.

Tiny resort, very quiet, no cars, great for families with kids. Easy parking. Very active tourist information centre providing all kinds of activities other than skiing : nordic walking incentive, wine tasting, book reading, handicrafts,... People all over the resort very friendly and laid-back. Ski school Esf very good too, monitors very friendly. Only negative point: ski lifts are slow... More

The village of Oz is run by local residents offering apartment accommodations and small restaurants much more authentic than the lower than the Alpe d'Huez ski resort below. And it's lovely to have no cars in the village - The best views are from the top of the highest ski lift. There's also a swimming pool and sauna available for... More

Definately worth a look if you have children in ski school as the school was excellent and very easy to get to. The telecabine takes you to the mid level on the Alp D'Huez side where you can go up or down from and there were no queues when we were there at all. The green runs on the alp... More
