The demonstration of ancestral culture's is a good idea, but not representative of real day life. Some of the dancers had long face and didn't seem to enjoyed being there. Peacock dance is not pertinent for the show.

Cultural shows presented by Sauraha Tharu Culture House were absolutely amazing, and there were so many things to learn from those shows on Tharu culture and traditions! Highly recommended!

We went to this show while staying at the Jungle Safari Lodge. Apparently they run this show every night at 7 o'clock. When we were there a lot of school kids were there on a school trip from Kathmandu. There were thrilled to be there and it showed in their applause.

We also enjoyed the performances as well especially the peacock dance. At the end everyone gets to go on the stage and dance with the cast. What fun!

They show shows some different dances. Some of the dances are pretty good and the peacock-dance is funny. For me the dances are mostly to long. They have a woman who talks about the dances, but the acoustics is very bad, so if you sit in the back you can not really understand.

the show is about 1 hour with 6 or 7 dances as a i remember, its interesting to watch the different local dances. its not a must to visit while in Chitwan but if you have time its good to visit, dont expect a Broadway show. i recommed you to visit since you will have free time at night in Chitwan, the show starts at 7PM, and in the heat of the city.

First I did not like the place. The centre was looking like a run down place from the outside and I was scared. Inside the stage was nothing fancy but a basic open area with dirty floor and walls. There were many handicrafts hanging on the walls but full of dirt and broken/torned.

The seats were full of dust and there were no cares to them. I sat on of the back seat to have a wide view of the stage and the hall room. The show started with traditional dance performed both by Tharu men and women.

The host was from among the participant and her English was clear but initially a bit difficult to follow (but I could take on later on). About 10 sequences were performed with different style and tools, I liked the peacock dance most.

Total show lasted for about 45 minutes and at the end it was well spent I must confess.

This was a bit of an unexpected on an excursion I went on. I'm so glad I was able to experience it. The entertainers were very good at what they were doing. Very enjoyable! It was a packed house and not with all tourists.
