We booked a tour through smiling horses on the equus farm and we had the loveliest time! The guides were very sweet and gave us a great tour through the mountains. The horses were adorable and very obedient. At the end they showed us their sugarcane farm and how sugar is made and even made us a nice snack. I would recommend it to everyone!

This is a family owned business and they did an amazing job of making sure we had a wonderful time and they succeeded! The ride across the farmland was stunning with beautiful views. After the ride, we went back and juiced sugar cane and made it into candy. They also shared fresh banana bread and banana cheese. We highly recommend these caballeros!

This horseback tour was amazing, and the best part of my trip to Monteverde! It was really affordable for the length of time we spent walking, trotting, cantering and galloping around the beautiful mountains and forests. We stopped for some beautiful view pictures and the guide - who's families farm it was - made sure we were all safe and having a good time at all times. At the end we also got to experience making sugar cane candy and drinking the sugar cane juice using old equipment. We also received a cheese taco as a snack! Would recommend to anyone visiting Monteverde.

We had a wonderful riding experience. Our guides were very nice and they provided helmets and good instruction for riding. The horses that we rode knew the trail well and were very friendly. This wasn’t a little trail around a family farm, we went a good 7+ miles into the beautiful countryside, through streams and up hills into the greens of Costa Rica. It was so beautiful!! They took us up to see the most spectacular sunset over the mountian ranges. When we came back our guides did a sugar cane mill demonstration and we got to drink sugar cane juice, make our own sugar cane candy and they provided us with a snack from their farm (some really warm delicious cheese tortillas and cake). It was a treat! I would highly recommend this ride and for all ages! It will be well worth it!

We took a 3 pm tour and were hesitant to let our 8 year old ride by herself. However, they made her dream come true and our tour guide Daniel was very patient, careful and it is evident he loves horses. They took us around one of the most beautiful farms I have seen around, with forest, crop plantations, creeks and stunning views. We are ever so grateful to Don Rafa, his daughter, Leo and Daniel for making this the best tour of our trip: they even had an amazing surprise treat for us at the end. This is a true Costa Rican farm and family business and a labor of love, since horses are well kept and well treated. It was simply delightful and we left the place with a permanent smile.
