I did a solo trip to Tanzania for a week. My goal was to climb Kilimanjaro and to have a day of Safari tour. Tranquil Kilimanjaro arranged everything from the pickup at the airport on the day I landed at JRO to the drop off at the airport on the day I left. They arranged lodging at Moshi and Arusha, the six day Kilimanjaro climb through the Marangu route, and a day at Ngorongoro Crater. Charles was a pleasure to work with the entire way. He was informative and prompt in his communications.

The six day Marangu route summit hike for Kilimanjaro involved a six men crew. Everyone was very helpful and I owe the successful summit experience to them. Hamis was the lead guide who oversaw the climb. He was highly professional, knowledgeable, and upbeat. All other members of the crew - Johnny, Hussen, Ali, Ibraa, Eliasi - did a fantastic job and ensured I had everything I needed to summit. The celebration after the summit hike was incredibly fun too - involving singing and dancing.

Afterwards, I did a day of Ngorongoro Safari tour with Benjamin. He is a very experienced and knowledgeable guide and I had a lot of fun on the day trip.

Overall, I had the time of my life in Tanzania and I’d enthusiastically recommend Tranquil Kilimanjaro to anyone traveling to the area.

We are a group of 15 very fit alpinists with pure love for mountaineering. Our 21 day trek to explore only the very best East African Mountains went very well, infact better than we expected.

It all started with a few emails and queries to Charles, who by the way was very prompt then we planned our itinerary. After a few changes we agreed to begin with Uganda then Kenya then finish off in Tanzania. So our journey started after landing at Entebbe Airport in Uganda where we proceeded to 2 Friends Beach Hotel before our trek the following day. After a 10 day Rwenzori trek we drove through Jinja to Kisumu then to Nanyuki for our Mount Kenya trek via the Sirimon Route. Mary, the female guide from Tranquil Kilimanjaro was there with us the whole time and we enjoyed her company on the trail till the end of it after she dropped us at Namanga Border to transfer to Moshi for our Kilimanjaro climb. We stayed at Chanya Lodge, a lovely place with swimming pool, nice food and soft music during dinner. We met our guides Elias and Hamis who inspected our equipment once again before setting off for Kili the next Morning climbing via the 8 day Lemosho Route. All these three peaks, we did them with ease, ofcourse there were some segments where we struggled a little bit especially summit day on Kilimanjaro but the team assigned to us were very helpful. We would like to thank everyone that made this long one month tour a reality.

We were fascinated about this kind of active volcano that spews black lava, after watching David Attenborough's series called a perfect planet. We stayed at Lengai Lodge and had a great time. The food was amazing but our focus was on climbing this ashy mountain. Climbing begins at 1100 meters, which means that you need to gain almost 2 kilometers in height per night to look into the crater of the volcano. Once in place, we put on a thermal underwear, throw storm jackets, turn on the lamppost lights and begin our journey to the top. The first 300 meters in height pass in light treking, small rodents are found along the way. But the closer the volcano becomes, the cooler the rise becomes. We stop periodically to catch our breath and drink some water. We met the first rays of the sun at a mark of 2600 meters, amazing views of the entire rift valley begin to open around ... a truly beautiful picture. On the way to the top, the smell of fumarolic gases emitted through cracks becomes more tangible. Climbing took us about 9 hours and the view on the top opens dramatically - these sounds of boiling lava coming from the bowels of the earth, these fantastic panoramas of African landscapes, all this leaves an incredible impression!

My 6-day hike up Kilimanjaro's Machame route with Tranquil was awesome. Charles was very responsive leading up to my arrival and the tour included both pickup and dropoffs of transportation before and after the hike.

During the hike, my guide Kelvin was incredibly helpful, kept a good pace, and looked out constantly for signs of trouble. The porters/chefs were also helpful in providing warm tasty meals and making sure the tent was set up each day at each camp.

If you're interested in climbing kilimanjaro, I highly recommend Tranquil.

A private group of 9 chose to hike Mount Kenya and we all made it to Lenana Peak. A 5 day hike up Mount Kenya with Tranquil kilimanjaro. With no doubts, we had an amazing lady-guide called Mary that was exceptional. The cook prepared great food and the porters were very helpful throughout the hike. The summit day was chalenging and thanks to our friendly guide who did everything possible to make sure we made it to the summit without any worries, thanks to her encourangement and support. We loved the scenery the glorious sunrise on the summit. What a lifetime experience that will always remain with me. Tranquil Kilimanjaro organized this trek so well and they provided a clothing kit list that was particularly helpful and it is was good to have known well in advance that it would be freezing at times especially at the peak! An excellent hike that defines an true Kenyan adventure.

Tranquil was honestly 10/10 in their services. They have the most amazing team. We had a successful summit largely due to their experience and guidance. The guides, chefs, porters and entire team are extremely professional and helpful. We highly recommend them to anyone climbing Kilimanjaro.

We had the best experience with Tranquil while climbing Kili (via Machame route) and wouldn’t do it any other way! We had the best guides, Hamisi and Eliasa, they were amazing and so knowledgeable and felt like brothers/family! We danced with them daily with laughs and fun and feel like we made friends for life! The crew, including porters and chef were also amazing and also felt like family. As vegetarians they made wonderful food as well. They were very accommodating and thought of everything we may need including a portable toilet that was clean. I highly recommend them for hiking Kili and took so many photos with them as well!

While spending our 4 day stay at the luxurius El Hotel Rui Palace in Nungwi off Zanzibar coast an idea popped up of going on a wildlife safari because we had some extra days anyway. Tranquil Kilimanjaro came up on the search results and we started designing a last minute deal for a nice adventure. Our parks of choice were the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Charles was kind enough to throuw in a couple of great destinations in our itinerary like the Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Park. All we can say is everything went smooth, even better than we expected. The guides, the lodges and the food was splending and ofcourse we saw the big 5 animals. Each one of them. Awesome trip.

We did a day hike to Mandara Huts with two guides. It took us about 3 hours to get there and 2.5 hours to return. Along the way, we enjoyed exploring the wildlife, spotting endemic flowers, trees, monkeys, and crabs!

The trip was tiring, especially on the rocky and steep sections, but others did not seem to feel that way. If you are not confident in your fitness, do not underestimate the toughness of the trip.

Our guides were kind enough to help us carry water and lunch boxes. We enjoyed singing Jambo Bwana songs and African music. Chatting with the guides about their culture, lifestyle, hobbies and dreams was also lovely. We found we were the same age, another factor that made the six-hour hike special.

The Mandara Huts provided a fresh and nice break, but it is important to note that it is not the summit. Otherwise, we would have been disappointed with what we saw there.

After the trip, they were very helpful in dropping us off at a convenient location for us.

I hope many people choose Tranquil for the best Kilimanjaro experience. -Erica/Japan

We, five friends of different nationality did a one-day trek from the gate at Marangu to the Mandara Huts with Tranquil Kilimanjaro in the very end of October 2023 (having attended a 5 day- workshop at Moshi). Everything worked very well. The guides very extremely helpful, especially with me who is 65 years old an have some problems with balance (though I am good physical condition otherwise). Coming back and being tired they held me by the hand on some difficult stony part of the trail. Very nice guides. Generally they were knowledgeable and considerate. Based on my experience I recommend Tranquil Kilimanjaro for potential trekkers. I found the agency flexible also in how the payment could be made, either by card or by cash.
