Climbing Kilimanjaro gave us the trip of a lifetime! We booked a nearly three-week tour with them including hiking Kili, a safari in the Serengeti, and then a trip to Zanzibar. They were professional, extremely prepared, communicative, safe, and fully accommodating to our vegan diets for the entire trip. Our guides Boka and Salim were amazing guides up the challenging mountain, and they ensured we were supported and fed a proper meal the entire time. We summited successfully after six hours of hiking in the cold and saw the most beautiful sunrise of our lives.

Our safari guide, Moses, was a phenomenal guide and we had multiple incredible animal encounters, including countless lions, including a mother with newborns, elephants, hippos, a leopard, and much more.

Lastly, we spent time in Zanzibar at the beautiful Z Hotel, as arranged by Climbing Kilimanjaro, and spent several wonderful days diving in the most incredible coral. Do not hesitate -- book this company today! I hope to see the team again one day and bring our entire family next time!

It is so difficult to put all my positive memories of my Kilimanjaro trip with Climbing Kilimanjaro in words. Besides all the impressions what stays most is how people make you feel.
I did the 7 days Lemosho route with 3 fantastic guides that always cared for us, motivated us, laught with us and made sure that we are well through the entire trip.
The days started in the best possible way: a big smile and friendly voice woke us and we were brought hot tea and coffee into the tent and had time to wake up. We were then given a bowl with hot water for washing. The freshly prepared breakfast with omlett, pancake, toast, fruit and porridge made us get up eventually :)
The hiking days itsself were not too exhausting. Technically, the hikes are relatively easy (only summit day is quite hard as you hile a lot). Some people might struggle with the altitude, but we always walked slow enough for our bodies to get used to the altitude. For that reason I also did not take any diamox and managed to reach the top without any problems.
The crew always cooked fantastic lunch and dinner as well. Every day we had popcorn as appetizer (yummy!) and a selecion of vegetables, rice, meat, fruit as main courses! The cook was indeed very good!
I had really on of the best experiences in my life with Climbing Kilimanjaro and would highly recommend the fantastic crew of guides, cook and porters! It was really like a big family trip to the summit and I am already missing all of them. They made me feel safe, happy and strong to reach our dream as one team!
ASANTE SANA Franky, Omar, Abdullah, Joshua and the rest of the crew!!!

Highly recommend. Justin was a pleasure to deal with in booking the trek and a huge help in organizing a Covid test locally before return travel. Huge thanks to Tumaini, my tour guide, for his enthusiasm and expertise on the trek. A personal highlight on the final ascent was being unexpectedly serenaded by Tumaini and Daudi - it really lifted my spirits during a tough stint and we made it to the summit for sunrise. Unforgettable. The chef (Casian) and porters (Mohamed (who also commendably debutised as chef for the final 2 nights), Daudi, Mushi, Moses and Athuman) were tremendous. Witnessing the stamina and strength of the porters was truly humbling. I felt safe and well looked after throughout. Irene, trip consultant, was also a pleasure to deal with. Thank you to all the team and particularly Tumaini for making my Kilimanjaro trek such a wonderful experience.

My wife and I selected Climbing Kilimanjaro after tons of reviews and recommendations. We wanted to find a company that engaged in ethical employment and pay practices for their guides and porters and were happy to see that Climbing Kilimanjaro belonged to the appropriate organizations. From the initial scheduling and correspondence over email I was already impressed with the company. Upon arrival our guide George met us at the airport and took us to our hotel where we had an initial briefing on the climb the following day. George and our assistant guides Raymond and Johnathon were very knowledgeable, pleasant, and skilled in leading our group of 6. The porters are absolute mountain goats and it was impressive watching them scale the mountain with all manner of gear and backpacks while smiling and engaging with us. Kennedy our cook and Adolf the assistant prepared wonderful healthy meals to keep us energized for the climb.

My wife and I had a wonderful time and would highly recommend our crew and the company to any trekkers. My wife and I are both very fit (I an ultramarthoner) and live at altitude in Colorado so we did not find the trek that physically challenging. Aside from my wife having a bit of altitude sickness at the highest camp for a short spell, we did not have anything of note. Others in our group came from sea level with minimal trekking experience and definitely struggled a bit more. For those less experienced trekkers I would recommend following the company's posted training plan and putting some time on the trails in your area. George, Johnathon, and Raymond took care of the less experienced trekkers with great care, compassion, and leadership and were able to help the entire group summit with a 100% success rate for the group. A testament to the quality of human being you get to climb with!

I booked a trip with a friend to travel the Lemosho route up Kilimanjaro in the summer of 2021. From the moment we arrived, we were well taken care of. We were met at the airport with a shuttle to the hotel, which was clean, modern, and comfortable. The staff there was attendant and it was the perfect place to spend the night before and after the hike. We were met by our guide and someone from the office to go over our trip. Our guide, Tumaini, went over our supplies and told us what we still needed. While avid day hikers, neither one of us had done multi-day treks like this. They made sure we were well equipped for a successful hike. The next day we went on a short safari which was a nice way to adjust to the climate after a long journey from New York. The following day we began our journey up to the summit. We were well taken care of all along with the way with two guides, many porters and a chef. The tent was comfortable (although I recommend a thicker pad or even an air mattress, if possible), the dining tent a great bonus and the meals were delicious. The guides were encouraging without being overbearing and kept us informed of our progress each day and made sure we were well fed and hydrated as well as healthy- checking our vitals each evening. I highly recommend this company as they made the journey so much easier having thought of everything to make the trip as comfortable and doable as possible on our budget (low to middle tier by our estimate).

Highly recommend this company to climb Kilimanjaro. During arranging the trip, the team responds quickly to questions and provides a lot of information on preparing the trip. Everything is arranged with attention to details such as pick-ups, briefing on the climb, gear check, great hotel (for before and after the climb) and drop off at the airport. During the climb itself, all the guides, cooks and porters work really hard and they have a great energy on the mountain (always smiling and singing). The guides are very knowledgeable and share insights on the nature and tips on how to make it up the mountain. The cooks make great meals every day with variety in them (didn’t expect this upfront). The porters do a great job in organizing the camp and making sure that is completely set up when arriving there, e.g. water supplies or toilet (even in rainy and windy conditions). The value that the company provides for the price range is absolutely great. Barnabus and his team made it an unforgettable trip. So overall, I highly recommend Climbing Kilimanjaro for a great Kili trip!

I cannot recommend this company enough. I successfully summited Mt. Kilimanjaro via the Lemosho route through the constant efforts of the guides Frank and Raymond. The entire team was top notch, from reviewing itinerary and gear prior to leaving for the climb, to the great group of people that carry gear up the mountain, to the wonderful food preparation and the constant engagement by the group. The guides tested our oxygen and heart rate every day, made sure we were in good spirits and health, made sure we ate well and had plenty to drink. They constantly ecouraged us during the entire climb. This is the kind of service you want doing something like this. I also added a 5 day safari - serengeti, ngorongor crater, tarangire park. Our guide was Emmanuel. He knew all the best places to find close up encounters to so many wonderful species including the Big 5. This was a incredibly memorable trip and Climbing Kilimanjaro made everything run smoothly. Great job guys!

Climbing Kilimanjaro Company receives our highest recommendation. On June 6th, 2021, our family of 5, including 2 boys 18 and 16, and a girl, 14, began climbing the 7 day Lemosho route to the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. We had fantastic support from many people including the porters, chef, and assistant guides. Our team leader and head guide was Tumaini Twati.

Tumaini is an excellent leader and a wonderful person to be around. His positive attitude was infectious and his entire team was in good spirits. The team of porters worked very hard and have remarkable stamina. We saw many examples of how they worked as a team to set up and break camp. Each day they would pass us on the trail with their super-human hiking abilities. We could not have summited without them and their positive attitudes.

Every day we were surprised at how much food was served to us at each of our three meals. Even more surprising was the great quality, nutritious value, and taste of the meals. We weren’t expecting three hot delicious meals a day, including plenty of fruits and vegetables. Chef Kasian worked hard and fast and is like a magician with food.
At each meal, the guides would make sure we ate plenty of nourishment for the day’s climb. My personal favorite was the soup that began each night’s dinner.

In addition, The group leaders checked our health every morning and evening to ensure we were able to continue with our trek. They were very conscientious about nutrition as well as being vocal with friendly reminders about water intake each day.

We also did Safaris in Tarangire park, Serengeti park, and Ngorongoro crater. Our guide was Emanuel. He was helpful and enthusiastic and worked hard to show us all that he could. Our favorite part was the Serengeti with the migration.

We thank the whole climbing team and Climbing Kilimanjaro staff for coordinating everything to make our experience memorable and smooth.

Sincerely,

The Butler Family

Climbing Kilimanjaro went above and beyond on every aspect. The pre trip booking communication was top notch and very quick. I have never been to Africa so I was a bit nervous traveling there alone however my worries were put to rest the moment I arrived at the airport. The accommodations they put us in were amazing. Mount Meru Hotel is a 5 star hotel at 3 star prices. I wish I could eat the complimentary breakfast every day.

While on the mountain I felt like I have known my guides forever. They were very easy to talk to and get to know. Their life stories are amazing. I did not own a lot of the required gear and decided to rent most of the items instead of buy them new. CK's rental gear was perfect. Kept me dry and warm for the duration of the hike.

I opted for a single tent which cost me an extra $150 but that was money well spent. The tents were all Mountain Hardware tents. I stayed in a 3 person tent by myself and it was very spacious. Even though it rained almost every night, these tents kept me dry. I would highly recommend bringing a camping pillow which allowed me to have a great night sleep.

I was also a bit nervous about the bathroom situation while on the mountain. The crew carried a portable toilet the whole way up the mountain to each camp along with a tent that protected the toilet from the elements (much needed and worked perfectly) and gave privacy.

The food on the mountain was perfect in every way, maybe a bit more food than I am used to but we needed it.

Summit night was a challenge but I was assigned a porter to help me on the way up, he even carried my day pack to the summit.

All in all Climbing Kilimanjaro is a professional organization and I would recommend them to anyone looking to climb.

I completed a 7-day Machame route trek in October 2022 with Climbing Kilimanjaro and it was one of the best experiences of my life. The Climbing Kilimanjaro team was extremely professional and gave me complete confidence in my ability to make it to the summit while having an incredible time along the way. Omar, Selim and Barnabas were very knowledgeable and provided great insight into the history of the mountain, as well as the various terrain and climate zones we traversed.

Our entire team of porters had an infectious energy that made all of the hikers feel right at home. Our cook, Godfrey, kept us well fed and fueled for the trip with robust and well-rounded meals (highlight of the trip). Juma, our waiter, boosted morale with many unexpected creature comforts. By the end of the trip, we felt like a tight knit family.

Can’t recommend Climbing Kilimanjaro highly enough for anyone hoping to summit The Roof of Africa!
