Cava love!
Jul 2021
I recently visited Cava Guilera and I cannot stop raving about it! It is a small family-run winery (since the 1920s!) and it is a true joy! We were shown around the place and the entire process was explained. The cellars are incredible! After the tour, we enjoyed 4 different cavas and 3 artisan cheeses under the shade of beautiful old tree with a great view of the vines and Montserrat. If you love cava or want to learn more about cava, it is an absolute must when visiting Penedes!

Visited Marta at her family's wonderful boutique vineyard in the Penedes region to the north and west of Barcelona. Freixenet may bottle the most, but Guilera bottles the best!

Crush Experience
Sep 2018 • Couples
My husband and I spent the morning at beautiful Cava Guilera. We were greeted by the owner and winemaker Pere and his daughter Marta who showed us how to harvest the grapes. Once our buckets were full, we brought them to the crushing area and got the chance to stomp the grapes and make sweet grape juice. We then enjoyed the most delicious breakfast of artisan cheeses, foie, chorizo, bread with tomato, sautéed eggplant and peppers! It was a feast. Pere’s cavas are extremely special... aged for many years and made with passion you can taste! The setting is spectacular with vineyards as far as you can see with Montserrat in the background. I cannot recommend this winery enough.

An incredible experience if what you lime is aged cavas. If you’re lucky the owner will show you and inspire you. Delicius bubbles

A beautiful wine tasting tour at a small family owned winery with the biggest heart, organic in every way.
Fourth generation Marta’s deep passion for cava making accompanied with tradition, extraordinary family history along with her story telling skills makes a visit highly recommended for culture and cava lovers.

My husband and I traveled to Spain to visit our son who was studying abroad. We visited the Cava region which was my most favorite thing we did. We went to 3 vineyards, Cava Guilera was one of them. Cava Guilera was by far the most memorable. They took us to see the vines and the soil and to tell us all about it. We had a private tasting where the father poured the wine for us and told us all about his most precious wine. You could feel the passion and the sweat and tears that went into the soil and the wine. I will never forget my experience at Cava Guilera... neither will you. You must go!

Extraordinary discovering!

Being locals (30 min drive) we love to discover new places in our area.
Had a private visit to the vineyards and cellar with the owner Pere Guilera and cava&cheese taste with him and his lovely daughter Marta (4th generation).
One of a Kind experience, even for our teens, that discovered for the first time part of our ancestral culture in a small but top level cellar.
Absolutely recommendable!

This was on of the places we visited on our bicycle tour. We loved the place, the environment and most of all - the wonderful and delightful owner! On top of it all, the Cava was soooo good!

A hidden gem in the Sant Sadurní d'Anoia countryside

Cava Guilera is a lovely family owned small vineyard and winery. The owners are thoughtful and have great customer service. The cavas are fantastic and in my opinion, they are the best value I have found in Catalunya. They only make reservas and gran reservas and the quality is excellent. We love to go out to the bodega, bring a picnic, taste the cavas, and go home with a case or two. We have brought many friends here and most of them end up going back. It is worth a visit!

We have been traveling through the Penedes region many times without stopping over to investigate what it has to offer. We have over the years started to find out about the qualities of the Spanish cavas and was curious to learn a bit more. We had been suggested by a Spanish friend to visit the region and he also recommended a visit to Cava Guilera. So this time we took the opportunity to do so. We stayed two nights in Mastinel Cava and hotel. Which by the way is very good. Our first visit to a cava producer was to Guilera and we got a great welcome and learnt a lot about the Cava production and history. The passion the owner and his daughter have for their trade is amazing and it comes over very clearly during the very interesting tour. The tasting of their products was fantastic. They produce about 25 000 bottles annually and it is like they know the characteristics of every individual bottle. We bought a number of boxes of their reservas and grand reservas from them and we know that we will enjoy this over the next year and every time we have a taste we will remember this fantastic visit. We strongly recommend that you take your time and pay this very genuine cava producer a visit.

With the best wishes

Jochum and Ing-Marie
