My wife and I visited the lighthouse while in Mykonos. Pretty cool lighthouse, but the views from there are spectacular. You can see all of Mykonos town. Great views of the Aegean Sea as well. Definitely worth the stop.

Was very close from my room, about 4 klm from
New port. Is abandoned, nothing special, desolate and looks like a "ghost".

It's a hike out to the lighthouse. And the narrow roads getting there are scary at best. But, when you get to the Lighthouse, it will be a nice and quiet and a perfect photo op. But don;t plan to stay too long... there's not much to see there after the lighthouse and views.

While this is a bit off the beaten path, it is something you should see when visiting Mykonos. You will have to take a 4 wheeler or car to get there. The view all the way around the lighthouse is something you will never forget. The road up to the lighthouse will give you views of Mykonos that are breathtaking as well.

It's worth the trip just for the view. You end up on a cliffside looking south down toward the old town of Mykonos and northwest across the sea to the neighboring island of Tinos. Below you see vast stretches of the Aegean, running off toward other islands, the sea dotted with what look to be toy boats dodging cotton balls on a blue table top. The lighthouse is rundown and there's no way to get inside, but who cares with that view.

We hired quad bikes one day and made our way out to the lighthouse. It's easy to find and fairly remote but gives great views over the sea.
The lighthouse is a little run down and in need of some upkeep but you can wander around the floors to your heart's content. Certainly a cheap way to while away an hour or so and fine some quality peace and quiet.

The constuction of this lighthouse was desided after the shipreck of the English steamship VOLTA in 1887 north of Mykonos and the loss of 11 sailors.
The first mechanism of the lighthouse worked from 1891 till 1983 and till then it is being exhibited in the Nautical Museum of the island.
Its height is 19 metres and you'll find it on a cliff of 184 metres above the sea by following the signs after Agios Stefanos in the north west edge of the island.
Being here away from crowds, music and fuss you will only hear the wind, feel the blinding, greek sunshine on face and leave your look run away with the waves of the Aegean Sea.
This is a wonderful feeling every time I come back here; feeling like a seagull flying free...
