About
The St-Cézaire cave is situated only 15 mins from the town of Grasse, the perfume capital of the world. The guided-tour, with commentary in French and English, takes place 40m underground, on a 200m long cave section, which has been adapted for easy access for all the family. For all the persons who can't understand French and English, we have numerous written translations: Nederland, German,Danish, Norvegian, Suedish, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Russian, Cinese. With a constant temperature of 15°C, in both summer and winter, a pullover or jacket, and sensible footwear (boots or trainers) are recommanded. The breathtaking beauty and underground riches of the cave await you in every gallery. Majestic draperies, imposing stalactites, star-specked concretions, luminous "jellyfish" curtains and even a sound show featuring musical stalactites. There is also a large on-site free car park, a meditteranean plant discovery path, souvenir shop, picnic area and a 6 hectare wooded park. The restaurant is open for lunch, and specialises in provençal style family cuisine.

Pleasant suprise

Whilst enjoying a well earned break in the south of France we came across Grotte de Saint-Cezaire. Whilst these aren’t the biggest caves I’ve visited in the area they were still quite impressive and fascinating, and worth a visit if your nearby.

Nice place to visit.
Jul 2019 • Friends
Had you been in other caves this is not a large one or an impressive one. I would call it first level cave. For someone who wants to discover a new one it will be an eye opener.
The guide we had was awesome. She would explain in French and in English. Temperature inside is about 60°F or 15°C. Outside there is a restaurant and an area for kids to play and challenge themselves with physical activities.

Waste of time and money!!
Jul 2019 • Family
What a waste of time and money. The lady at the front desk was rude and only wanted to cash your tickets.

I saw on tripadvisor that the restaurant was very good. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed. They served sandwiches. 6,50 for a Hot Dog and 5,50 for a dry Pan Bagnat is very expensive for what it is!!!

If I could, I would advise you NOT to go!!

We are quiet surprised bout your review Gabi06400. The lady at the front desk is very charming with all customers. About the restaurant, it 's difficult to judge the price of meal without know the quality and quantities in the sandwiches if the restaurant was closed ... Don't you think so ? Best regards, La Grotte de St Cézaire

A great visit all round
Jul 2019 • Family
Having read lots of positive reviews online, we included a stop in the caves today and were not disappointed.

An adventure to find (even with the signage) and a very inconspicuous house is the entrance and souvenir shop.

And there the journey down into the ground starts. The tour guide explains things in French and English and the whole tour takes about 45min.

Despite many of the guests wearing flip-flops, I recommend sneakers or other shoes as there are many steps, some of which are a bit slippery.

As it was +30C outdoors, we took jackets/jumpers (just in case) but didn’t need them despite the 15C in the face. This is due to the 98% humidity.

The kids (and parents) thoroughly enjoyed the visit (total cost €31) and then savoured a coffee and ice cream back outdoors afterwards in the shade.

A good rainy day
May 2019 • Couples
A rainy day in Provence prompted us to go underground so we drove to Saint- Cezair-sur-Siagne, a grotto, where we had lunch before our tour. We were served by a lady from Minnesota who knew all about the Juicy Lucy, A legendary St. Paul, Minnesota burger that I had tried earlier this year. Small world.

The tour underground goes down about 10 floors and is really well lit. I really appreciated the tour guide asking where we were from and if we spoke French. He then proceeded to provide a bilingual commentary that greatly enhanced our visit. We really liked it. Turned out be a great option for a rainy day.

Great experience for the whole family
Jul 2019 • Family
Went there with my kids aged 5 and 7, and they were very excited. Great for us as parents as well. You walk down and always something to look at, none were bored at any time. We are staying in the area, so happy we took the trip.

Great introduction to the wonderful underworld beauty
Oct 2018 • Couples
The caves are very easily accessible, and the tours are conducted in only 45 minutes; thus, this is definitely a must do if you are in the vicinity. The very insightfull and enthusiastic guide gives you a great intro to the marvels and mysteries of the underworld. You get to understand the creation of stalagtites vs stalagmites, the wonderful underground caverns, the mysterious travels of the water, and eventually that the caves, after all, are not caves at all!

Lovely

We had a lovely time visiting the caves. I would recommend booking food before going. Our tour guide was very good and great humor. It is not too strenuous of a tour so it would suit many people. Great for families, couples and kids.

Brilliant value for money
Aug 2018 • Family
We took a day trip to the caves from Cavalaire-Sur-Mer. The caves were great value for money, really impressive. We had a great tour guide, who turned out to be the first person to descend into the caves. He gave an excellent tour with loads of information offered in both French and English.

We ate lunch at the on site restaurant which was good and reasonably priced, there was also a cheaper snack bar/van with sandwiches and paninis.

The kids and my partner also enjoyed the high ropes adventure (on site) which catered for all ages and again was great value as they could have as many goes as they wanted.

The way we drive took us past Lake Saint Cassien which had several watersports and a beach. Had we left earlier in the morning we would have stopped off here in the way back.
