An endless street of stalls and a lot of delicious street food, easy accessable and transport readily available. Many small and good restaurants with both Thai and Western food at affordable prices.

If you can handle a crowd and love to shop then this is a must. Everyone just shuffles along as there are so many people. But everything is such a great price that it's worth the crowds. The stall holders do barter a bit but...More

We came here around 4.30pm and almost all the stalls were opened but the sun was too bright and scorching. However, we could shop at ease before the crowd came in. Many things to see here, accessories, clothes, paintings, decorative items, food and much more,...More

After checking out several markets in Chiang Mai, we thought this was the best of them all (though to be fair the bazaar was mostly shut down while the country was in mourning). There was tons of food, and both typical and unusual handmade items....More

A huge market in the middle of Chiang Mai. Hundreds and thousands of people pushing through the streets. Mostly tourists. Nice to buy some souvenirs. A little more expensive then regular market.

Saturday walking street is better than Sunday, but still a bit of fun and worth going. Is big and we only just made it to the end of it. Didn't buy much but always love wandering through the chaos

Lovely market for souvenirs, wall hangings, ornaments, scarfs etc. Roads are closed to vehicles which makes it an enjoyable place to stroll and soak up the festive atmosphere as well as find a bite to eat. Temples open their courtyards to the market stalls which...More

Since it is a "night" market I think it won't be open in the early afternoon. On the other hand, if you go before it opens there also won't be any crowds either.
