We took a 4x4 part of the way up and then did the walk into the smaller falls which is 15mins. You will need good foot wear and be comfortable walking over uneven ground. Nice waterfall but I probably wouldnt have done the walk if I knew about the uneven surface.

I probably am a spoiled traveler, but I find it hard to get excited by waterfalls. The word describes exactly what you'll see : water falls.
There's two waterfalls here, but it was raining cats and dogs, so after seeing #1, I decided to call it a day.

Great little hike in the winter. We went to the small waterfall first, not realizing that there is a bigger one. On our way back down, we saw the sign for the bigger one and we were told by hikers coming down that the extra 20 minutes and 400-meter climb were worth it. Totally was!

If you are from europe and you have already seen some waterfalls i dont recommend. Its nothing special. If you wanna go half way up with the car, you need good offroad experience and a 4x4.
Dont book a trip in total. Go to the parking lot by car or taxi and go up. Its easy…

Absolutely stunning waterfall in the mountains. It’s a hike up there but it’s worth every step. You need to be pretty physically fit because some of the areas you really had to maneuver so if you’re older and have mobility problems you will not be able to do this.

A must-go destination near Kazbegi. Just some walk, but need a stable foot, after parking car, the great waterfall is right in front. If brave enough, can even get soaked and refreshed right under the waterfall. The best thing is there are two (one big and one small) waterfalls. They are not along the same route, but rather located at the ends of two different paths. But the distance is short enough. An hour or so would be enough to visit two picturesque waterfalls in a roll!

We went to Gveleti even though some advised us it would be hard for our children (2.5 and 4.5 years). Directions from Kazbegi - after you turn left to Gveleti village, there is a sharp left turn right away. The road is not easy (only by 4x4) and it takes you up until you get to a "parking"area ( we parked 200 meters before it and climbed up the road, since the road was too tough for us). After you park your car there is a red arrow on a stone which shows a turn right to the big waterfall. Make sure you go to the big one! Don't miss it. It takes 20 min for grownups, for us with the kids it took half an hour or 40 minutes since we made 2 stops on our way (which made the climb much easier). The way to the waterfall is by the river, and is not so hard. When you get to the end, make sure u climb to the top. The view from there to the surrounding mountains and th canyon is just breathtaking.
The way back is also very beautiful, since you get a glance from a different position of this amazing place. After finishing the big one we went to the small one (which is on the left from the parking ) - there is nothing to compare...

I have been there with my wife

It was nice experience but the weather was so cold and the snow was all over the mountain which slow down our movement

But in general it's worth to visit

We had a little time in the morning before heading back to Tblisi and this was the perfect little hike. We just caught a taxi in town and the taxi driver knew easily where it was and also provided a lot of history - in Georgian? ( My daughter speaks Georgian )

This was an easy and short hike to a pretty waterfall. Nice little diversion.

I have seen nicer waterfalls but the hike is not too bad and on that hot day, a fresh cold spay from the falls was just what we needed
