Nice place but would not recommend for lone women

This is a nice place for a walk with loads of paths going off in different directions. You can also walk all around the lake. It was muddy today though. I also saw a weird young man who kept looking over at me when I was sat on a rock near the lake. I decided to catch up with a couple walking their dog as I felt very uncomfortable 😐. When I caught up to them he was stood on a path just watching. Very unnerving

I love this place for walking with dogs, only don't feel safety as lonely women there.Yesterday disturbed me weird Asian gay which was hiding close to the wall and calling me.Didnt know what was that. The water side is lovely, nice for swimming too, just if u climb up back it could be little bit unsafety for women.

BMDC must do better ...
Apr 2019 • Family
The ‘rezza’ has been a favourite of ours for many years but our visits have declined in recent times due to the behaviour of others: uncleared dog mess, un-emptied bins leading to takeaway rubbish all over, fly tipping, abandoned fishing paraphernalia, drug dealing / using and other (it has been reported) nocturnal activities. BMDC decided to deal with this by padlocking the drive down to the car park. While I’m sure this will have sent some of these activities elsewhere it also discourages ‘regular’ visitors too as it also means a short, steep walk down (and back up) the drive to the pond. Having said all this on a sunny day there’s not much locally to beat the beautiful views and the varied wildlife you can see. It’s just such a shame a few humans have spoiled it for the rest of us.

A lovely walk but spoilt by few
Mindless people flytipping and drug users . Now council have closed the car park making it hard for older people with walking problems to continue enjoy it.

This is near one of our rental properties so we go here often. It’s quite under stated with resident swan family, ducks and other wildlife. This time we so a few folks swimming it was so warm. We’ve never been in but does look clear water. There are lots of different walks, there are rocks too for your free running/rock climbers and picnic benches too.

Stunning and set back from hustle and bustle. Beautiful clean water and new baby birds. Great place to picnic and watch the world go by

A nice walk

Horton Bank Country Park is a bit hidden and I lived down the road for years not even knowing it existed! The turning to the car park is next to the doctors, just above the fish and chip shop.

It's not a massive place but there is lots to explore. There is a main pond in the middle which always has plenty of birds on it. The walk around the water is not very long but is idea for little legs. If you want to explore further there are more walks you can do.

There is a picnic area by the car park and there are other areas you could sit and have a picnic on the grass.

Worth a visit if you fancy a nice walk locally.
