Was disappointed on our recent visit to find the creek banks littered, camp fire sites at different parts of the area and illegal camp sites tucked away in the bush. To top it off there was a dumped, burnt out, fairly new model (obviously stolen...More

Amazingly clear water. Clean sites. Numerous hidden areas to enjoy the river, beach and surrounds in relative privacy.

Usually come down here with friends to do some 4 wheel driving. Have stayed the night a couple times (camping). A beautiful place to swim and do some fishing.

Great picnic area, cool water, very relaxing, quiet and close to city, easy to find . The day I went there was sunny and a little overcast at times, so perfect for picnicking.

Not enough facilities such as rubbish bins and barbecue areas. Definitely need upgrading. Access needs improvement.

Great spot to relax and have a BBQ with the family, was a spot we frequented when we were younger, brought back heaps of memories, beautiful spot in the world.

We stumbled by accident across the Rosse and Locke picnic area, and glad we did. Just off the Gillies highway it affords a number of great picnic/camping spots on the Mulgrave river. Lots of places to swim (although watch the current and water temperature), and...More
