We took a shared taxi from Navoi which dropped us at the gate of the Chasma complex for no extra charge. The complex opens at 9am, and is a place of pilgrimage, so be careful to respect local customs. The complex includes the Juma mosque, Pandjvakta mosque, spring, khamom (bathhouse ) and five fingers well “Besh pandja”. Tickets are purchased at the main gate, which is a set of three decorated arches on columns. Once through the gates you will see lovely gardens and a river running to the left through the complex. many persons bring containers and collect water from the spring which is thought to have healing properties, and to be "blessed".
The first attraction is the Pandjvakta mosque. The blue dome of the mosque is visible from the rear, and is slightly raised in an Iranian style of architecture. The roof has 25 smaller domes which are not decorated. The iwan is at the southern section, and it was decorated with blue tiles at the top which had Persian writing in white and just below another tiled area with a floral pattern. There was grey plaque with Persian writing above the door. The unique design here was a small blue minaret with lanterns and a blue dome above the iwan.
There were two arch designs on either side of the door, but the far ends were windows. All of these arched designs had decorated tile patterns (similar to the iwan) above them. At the ends of the building were guldastas which were not capped. The mosque was built in the 16th century and a plaque on the door confirms this as (9th century AH). Unfortunately it was being repaired and access was not permitted. The next attraction is a bath house built in 1922. It has 12 rooms and was used by both sexes.
To your right is another 16th century mosque, though slightly younger, the Juma Mosque. It is famous for the large 16 meter dome atop. It is known by locals as "Chilsutun", and has 16 beautifully sculpted columns. The western side of the mosque has 10 columns as the ceiling here is wider. The dome of this mosque was being repaired but entry is allowed if footwear is removed. There were beautiful green prayer mats on the mosque floor. The main entrance is in the north through double doors under a decorated arch, but access from the sections where the wooden columns are located is also allowed.
The main attraction is to the left front of the Juma mosque, as this is where the main source of the chasma is located. It is probably better viewed by walking along the path to the left and taking photos of the fish from the southern raised area. The five fingers well is to the right of the chasma, and this is also a religious area. It is 6 meters deep and is said to have a hand print at the bottom. If you continue up the steps to the upper area, there are two decorated tombs (mazars). The first has a blue dome and is enclosed, whilst the second has a dome but on open arches and the tomb may be viewed.
A return taxi to Navoi is usually parked at the entrance to the complex.

Chasma spring on the edge of town is lovely spot to spend a bit of time. The spring produces clear water that has been harnessed into large pond. The pond is very well stocked with carp. By the pond is mosque.
