Nice Fort, Not much to see
Dec 2019
We stopped at Khasab on a cruise vacation. We chose to visit the Bukha Fort as part of a cruise excursion. All the forts in the region have an interesting history and are worth the guided visits. However, they are simple fort and it doesn't take much time to visit. The route from Khasab is beautiful with great overlooks.

Spectacular views

Well maintained fort that’s free to enter, it’s relatively small and you can go into all rooms and up top within 30 minutes. You get great views from up top as well. You’ll need to read about the history online as there is no signage that explains any of it.

Bukha Fort
Nov 2019
This is a small fort with a very well maintained unique round cone sharp tower and 2 rectangular towers on each corner at the fort wall. There are no artefacts nor exhibits there. But if you don't mind to climb up 21 steps (no hand railing to hold on) to the top of the fort there are nice views of the nearby mosque and the coastline. On our way to and from there, one side is the marvellous coastline view of the Strait of Hormuz and the other side is the fascinating rock formation of the mountains. That sure made our trip to Bukha Fort worthwhile.Happy Travelling!

As usual - every fort is fantastic for me

I love forts and fortresses - that why I can recommend this place as place which is worth to see.

When I was there it was closed as it was Eid Al Fitr - but even from outside this place is awesome.

Not as big as the fort in Khasab but worth a visit
Apr 2019 • Couples
The fort is very well restored and maintained and is worth a visit for its part in the history of the area. If you climb the steps to the top of the fort (be very careful - there is no handrail) you will have marvellous views of the nearby mosque and the coastline. What you shouldn’t miss is the spectacular coastline drive on the road that links Khasab and Bukha - pull off the road near the village of Al Harf for great views of the Strait of Hormuz.

Beautiful restored 17th C fort along azure coastline.

We stopped here twice on our 80 km drive each way from Ras Al Khaimah to Khasab.
Its easy to see how historically it protected this small town sitting along the beautiful 1 km cove. Today its best view is with the afternoon sun to avoid it being dominated by the much larger new mosque. We recommend saving your visiting time for the excellent displays at the Khasab Fort.

Small fort
Nov 2018 • Family
Nuzha fort is just before bukha while going from khasab. It is on the road and can not be missed. Nothing much to see as it is very small. However there is a very small but beautiful park nearby.

Guarding the town
Mar 2018 • Friends
This is a small fort on the edge of the village of Bukha and there are great views out to the Arabian Sea. There is not a lot to see here but it was only opened up to visitors a few years ago.
You marvel that people would live in such remote areas but the fishing is abundant and lucrative here. The area is close to the Straits of Hormuz and quite a strategic area for Oman

Bukha Fort
Mar 2017 • Couples
This looks an interesting Fort which originaly guarded the town & the harbour of Bukha. It was built in the 17th century & was restored in 1990. It is right on the main road on the way up to Khasab & can't be missed!Unfortunately as it was Friday when we passed & it was closed! There wasn't an information board either!
