About
WELCOME TO OUR FARM Come and visit an old farmstead that clings to the mountain-side and enjoys splendid views over the fjord and surrounding mountains. Skaldegard invites small groups to come and learn about the local area’s natural environment, history, agriculture and way of life, both past and present. Your visit will include a guided tour of the historic farm buildings. Inside the lovingly restored barn you get to try home-made lefse, a traditional Norwegian flatbread. Then we take you on a journey through Norwegian folklore to a world where trolls and huldra live. Welcome!

Not possible to visit now

This place is amazing due to the way to get there and panoramic views but understandably not possible to see i guess due to Covid, anyway I admire people working with land and animal care and I would say-keep on, we respect people like you!

A Special and Wonderful experience
Aug 2019
An-Magritt Lindtner provided a wonderful tour. She met me in Flam and took me back to her farm with magnificent views from the hillside. It was so interesting to learn of life on the farm, to taste local specialties and to visit the traditional farm buildings that they have so lovingly restored. She also brought to life some of the Norse myths that influenced people's lives for so long.
An-Magritt makes such an effort to provide a personalized experience that is so far removed from the tourist crowds of Flam. She even helped me buy (at my request) some of the goat cheese of her sister-in-law.
A trip I would heartily recommend.

We have visited Flam twice now and found your tour to be one of the best things we have experienced.your warm manner and insightful history lesson was a joy for us.
We left feeling great and we're so glad we had come to your corner of paradise.

An overview of local farming in Aurland
Jul 2019 • Family
We’ve visited An-Magritt’s Skaldegard as part of a ‘bike & tell’ tour from 29/2 Aurland. Our family of 5 enjoyed listening to An’s stories about the farming traditions of the area, tasting some of the local foods and hearing all about the local trolls and underworld creatures of the fjords. A really nice day had by us all!

I do not understand how this is the 4th best thing to do. Its tops! An-Margritt collected us after our picnic and entertained us for hours yet it was not long enough. She is authentic and genuinely loves her history and story telling. We even had a song sung to us. Its for all ages and was a very special few hours well spent.

An-Margritt pick us up from the hotel and from that moment till our return was wonderful. She showed a genuine interest in us and the reason why we wanted to do the tour. her enthusiasm was wonderful and you could see her passion of the history of farming and the way of life.

We loved her stories and her songs really enjoyed the cheese and the treats she made for us.
I would of liked to see the goats and other animals (but that's just me). Do not miss this tour, even if it just for the amazing views from her home

excellent way to experience spectacular fjord views and local history
Oct 2017 • Friends
What a wonderful experience of a traditional farm in Norway! The visit is filled with information and warm hospitality. We heard about the creation of the fjords while enjoying an outdoor fire and hot drinks, and continued with a tour of the buildings and tastings of traditional goat cheese and flatbread. The views of the fjord are truly spectacular. The hostess, An-Margritt, described historical farming ways, displayed old tools, and told engaging stories about the trolls and huldra –in excellent English!
