I believe the new company name is now Best Adventures. We had the most amazing time on the 3 hour kayak tour. The safety briefing was comprehensive, the guides Michael & Nils were very friendly & attentive, & the fjord was stunning on a fabulous sunny day. Such great fun.

Enjoyed the guided kayaking tour of the fjord. Both single & double kayaks were available, though the singles were recommended only for those of us with prior experience. Our guide gave an interesting overview of the history of the area. On this day, the water was very calm. We stopped for a break by a waterfall. Such a pretty & serene area. Very nice!

Thank you FlatEarth and specially to our instructor Michael for providing a wonderful sea kayak trip in Eidfjord. We were extremely happy to have done that and we must say that it was one of the highlights during our visit to Norway.
Right from instructions on how to wear the dry suit to how to make your first kayak trip a grand success (without flipping in water), everything was very well arranged and perfect.
Totally fun-filled and highly recommended! :)

This morning i went to Fatearth in Eidfjord to book my 9 year old son and myself on a kayaking tor of the fjords. Their brochure says the tour is good for children 7years and up. The man we spoke with told us no. Children have to be 10. The said I was wrong about the brochure. He then went to speak to a woman, who i assume was the owner and they discussed in norwegian. All i understood was NO. There was never anything said about other options of things to do or 'we are sorry, we know this must be disappointing'.
I then went back late in the afternoon to show them the brochure, the woman, who is indeed the owner first said that the man in the morning did not believe that my son was 9. I had my son's passport on me and offered to prove that I was not a liar. Then she said No, the group taking the trip that day was too andvanced and she 'she trusts the judgement of her guides'. It was never explained what 'judgement' that was. She was rude and obvious happy not to have us as custumers. I must admit, after being treated so disrespectfully, i am happy to not give them my money. i suggest others do the same. There are hundreds of appreciative business owners in the fjord country who deserve your business.

Guides Michael and Axel met us right when we got off our cruise ship. We walked to the kayaks for gear and very thorough instruction. Michael kept a close eye on the weather as it was supposed to be rainy and stormy but as the sun came out he extended our time so that we could enjoy the fjord. Beautiful rainbows! The water was a little rough but it was very managable.

We were traveling on the Norway in a Nutshell Hardanger Fjord tour and elected to stay overnight in Eidfjord, We went white water rafting on Sunday morning with FlatEarth. It was a great experience for us and our 10 year old daughter who thought it was "terrifying but fun". Sander was our guide and was very skilled and put everyone in the boat at ease. Two trips down the river with lots of fun and excitement. I can heartily recommend it.

They made our reservation as a stand-by without telling us. When the weather on the fjord turned out to be nice they sent our guides down to the cruise ship for kayaking. No warning, no call...just "Come back in four hours." Bah!

We are a young adventurous couple in our 20's who were looking for a fun-filled activity during our short trip to the fjords. Luckily, FlatEarth in Eidfjord were more than happy to accommodate us - and flawlessly at that. March might be considered a pretty awkward time to visit in terms of finding an activity as it is in between winter and summer activities. We thought we'd give it a shot and see if there was anything we could do to experience a little bit of the wilderness and nature during our city-hopping Scandinavian trip - we sure did stumble upon something wonderful! After contacting FlatEarth directly, we received a very friendly prompt reply from a company that were more than willing to ensure we experienced some fun! A 3 hour kayaking trip on the Fjords, just at the top of the spectacular Hardanger Fjord, was on offer so we jumped at the opportunity. We travelled from Bergen the evening prior to our morning kayak, in what were pretty bleak conditions. However, the morning brought with it some lovely spring sunshine and perfect kayaking conditions - anticipation for our adventure loomed!
We were very friendly greeted by Mike who kitted us out in great top-quality gear and ensured we were comfortable with our kayaks and equipment before setting out. Mike was a great instructor, a very well-experienced guide who ensured we got the most fun from our excursion (encouraging us to embrace our inner wildside) and who was also full of very interesting facts about the surrounding region and lots of fables about the local area. We set off in our kayaks touring the beautiful unspoilt coastline over 3 hours of pure bliss!
I could not recommend this activity/company more, it was without a doubt the highlight of our holiday. While we visited as a couple this activity is suitable for all ages and all abilities and makes for a great day out! It is a wonderful way to truly experience the natural beauty of the Fjords. FlatEarth (and Mike on our acitivity/Jane in the office) were a great team to be involved with and we definitely hope to return in the future. A must do!!

FlatEarth Student Camp has been the most amazing, adventure packed and adrenaline filled week in my life!!!
Our week consisted of hiking up to Voringfossen Waterfall and glacier, swimming in the nearby lake and the Eidfjord, sea kayaking, rock climbing and an opportunity to try out ice wall climbing, experience abseiling from the heights of 50m, test ourselves at white water jump, archery and so much, much more!
FlatEarth also offers a range of other activities a lot cheaper than the usual price that needless to say we used as often as possible, for example, going to white water kayaking and white water rafting, mountain biking.
Although FlatEarth wasn't leading social events at the house, their support and offered facilities were the ones that motivated and gave us the freedom to socialize around the bonfire, gather in the kitchens while cooking our meals, and also have the opportunity to play music on the drums and guitars. It was the easy going atmosphere, friendly environment and positive attitude towards all ideas we came up on our own that made us feel more like at home than in an actual camp.
The guides and instructors this company has picked out are treated as part of the family, their opinions are valued and taken into consideration. Both owners are dedicated, enthusiastic and amazing people. Their company doesn't feel like business, but rather like a lifestyle, which would make everyone wish to come back again!
There is no way to describe the emotions our group had when leaving this little paradise of ours. Obviously, a lot depends on the people you come with and the ones that you meet... but can nature lovers and adventurers actually be bad? :)
Seriously, me and my friends are already now planning our next summer camp at FlatEarth, and I would suggest you do the same!

Hi there, we cannot gurantee that the guide on specifically your tour will be German speaking. We therefore highly recommend you to book via AIDAs sales system, their tours have priority reg. Germen speaking guides, but we cannot promise anything at this moment.

Hi there,
at this time of the year we only offer sea kayaking on the fjord - and on this particular date Fred Olsen Cruises have booked all our capacity for their guests (kayaking on the fjord, 9:30 and 13:00) This tour can be booked via the ship's online service or sales office.
You may also be interested in renting a bike from the Tourist Information, situated on the cruise quai, and go to the Nature Centre in Øvre Eidfjord, only 6,5 km from the fjord. Price pr. bike: NOK 100,- for the first hour, + 50,- pr. additional hour. You book and pay on the spot.
