Lovely walk around the ancient ruins and pretty park. Plus leave plenty of time to sightsee the secon part of the site where the old city used to be. Loads to view throughout and gives you an idea about how life used to run in the ancient times.

Huge site spread over large rural area. Yes you need some imagination to visualise the place but it's pretty good. Museum is small but interesting.

Nice place although, it would have been good if we were given a map of the place when purchasing our ticket, as it was a bit difficult to navigate the place and know how much of the park we still need to explore. Most of the signs around the park are not in good condition too, making it difficult to know what each place used to be. Would only come back with a guide.

It was raining when we arrived to the site. So we drove around to peek thru the fence to figure out if it was worth getting wet. The site looked a bit neglected and we could not see any standing structures although the site was quite large.

Dion is interesting and it's fun to walk around, although in reality there's not much there other than a few foundations.

Also the whole park gives the impression that they spent some money on it about 15-20 years ago and then haven't bothered to maintain it. Not the first such experience we had in Greece.

Lots of stones. Not much else. Hard to believe people rated this so highly. It may be of some historical interest to diehards but given so many better preserved areas this one is really not worth the visit. It’s very spread out. The bathes are mildly interesting but everything else is barely recognizable.

We stopped here on our drive from Katerini to Larissa arriving at the entry building and finding it closed. After seeing part of the nearby theater of wooden seats, we walked the fenceline to see the below ground level ruins of the sanctuary of Zeus then to the long ruins and walls of the Roman Agora. We could see why the Byzantines abandoned this site in the 10th C due to its exposure to flooding.
The nearby town's Museum of Dion was also closed but its surrounding statuary was easily visible.

This was an expansive and beautiful archaeological site. Not only were the antiquities interesting, but the site itself is a gorgeous nature site. Well worth the visit.
