The beach is all white and made from marble. The combination of colors is very interesting: blue crystal water, green pine trees and white beach. If you want to take some good pictures, this is the place.
Disadvantage: the beach is very crowded and the road is very challenging for a normal car (a 4x4 traction is recommended) You must bring water&food. Also, there is no toilet!

After a lot consideration, and hearing different comments about this place, we decide to go. Marble beach is kind a simbol of Thassos, with beautiful pictures you can fins on internet. Actually it's not really like that. Marble stones on the beach is really beatifull, but water is not even close like on pictures. It's crystal clear blue only in first meter or two, because of marble stones in water, and after that is sand, so it's like everywhere else in Thassos. After all the beach is nice, but not a mindblowing. Eatherway, worth seeing, and the road ia not that bad as people write online

We came here with friends in August 2016. It was peak season, so the beach was overcrowded and dirty. As you access the beach with a car, your car gets fully covered with a thick layer of white dust (fine marble particles) and the trees along the road stand covered in the same white dust, as if it snowed (see photos). We came here because we heard so much about it, that it is an unusual beach with marble rocks and white sand. The marble quarry is just a few metres ahead and the marble particles settle on everything nearby. The beach actually has normal sand, and the white layer is the marble dust on top. The water was a gorgeous turquoise blue colour, but not clean and my friends declined swimming there, whilst I decided to give it a go. Basically, if you like to keep your car clean and are worried about breathing in the clouds of thick dust, don't come here!

Per person is 25e, and include one free drink also per person. Its too expensive for small beach. And they will charge you showers also, 0.50 e for every time. Wc is too far from sunbeds. Only good thing music and color of the sea.

Looks nice from the car. The rocks are too big. 15 Euro per person just to enter it. No card payments, alwfuly rude staff. We did stay for 30 mins and couldnt take anymore so we just left. Went to the next marble beach (Porto Vathy) which is way way better in every possible way.

I'm writing this review with large disappointment towards what this beach has become. For me anyway. But I will be fair and not talk only bad.
My first visit to this place was back in 2011 when the beach wasn't attended much and there were just a handful of sunbeds and umbrellas. Second visit was in 2016 with my wife and our parents. Was a bit different but still good.
Now in 2018 the beach is suffocated by sunbeds and umbrellas. It's hard to move without getting into each other personal space. The guys who charge you for sunbeds seemed a bit aggressive two times in a row when paying for them. I'm romanian and I felt that romanian attitude in those guys also. You can judge me for saying this but some people will definitely understand what I'm talking about. It's something that I hate and try to avoid as much as possible. It's one of the reasons why I don't go Constanța...
It was full of romanian people this year, while in 2016 and 2011 I could hear a lot of German.
I belive something happened to the marble pebble also. Before they were rounded, easy to walk on. Now I belive they are trying to maintain the beach by adding pebbles and make the surface uniform and larger but they are sharp and a pain to walk on without shoes. There's a bar with expensive drinks. You pay 5€ for a small 0.33l cup of draft beer, 5€ for a sandwich with almost nothing in it, 3.5€ for a bag of chips... Oh yes, and the sunbeds are 12€ a set, but you don't get anything from the bar included.
On the other hand, Paradise beach charge 7€ per set also nothing included, and Astris beach has free sunbeds but you need to order a drink from the bar which is also around 5€.
I sadly must say that if I'll come back to Thassos, this being my 3rd time now, I won't be so excited to visit this beach anymore.
Road is bad and dusty and I would've ignored it if the beach was left alone or at least not as heavy modified by man.
In 2011 i would have given it 5 stars, 2016 between 4 and 5, but now in 2018 only 2, and these two stars are for the clear water, the impressive road through the marble quarry and the stones on the left side of the beach.

Very overrated beach. Very crowded and small beach. Abused donkeys and bad bathrooms. The road there is bad too. Not worth it!

It is a must see because from the next year they will start to mine for the marble wich is up in the mountain, above the beach. That means the beach will be destroyed. You can not find any more umbrellas and bar because of the storm that destroyed everything a few weeks ago. The road is very bad, but worth the money to rent a car to go there better than go with yours. Is no sand on the beach, only small white shiny pieces of marble that looks like pearls.

I knew that people in Thassos are thieves but I did not expect to get down at Saliara after a bad 10 minutes road for the car and give 12 euros for the umbrella and self service...the sea was dirty from the many people that it had. I am sorry for you for serve this for the best beach on Thassos. You give good beaches a bad name. Never come again

Hi, all. This is a construction site, an actual marble stone pit. Avoid at all cost, unless you really like dust, noise, smoke, dirty water and crowded tiny piece of artificially loaded lime shore. Oh, there are 3 car washes as the road is only good for commercial heavy duty machines. DANGEROUS place, a Must Not See one.

Стоит ли ехать на пляж на арендованной машине? Есть ли легальная парковка? От нее далеко идти?

Is this the beach that used to have only a strip of sand and an unfinished 2 storey building further back?
Written September 30, 2017
The beach with the abandoned building is called Vathi Beach. Saliara Beach is the same thing as Marble Beach

We are currently in thassos. Which is the easiest way of getting to Saliara beach from thassos town? We do not have a car. Thank you.
Written August 23, 2016
I guess the easiest way is to take a boat tour. Sorry for being a bit late to answer..
