    Glad we did this one
Our booking was with Days of Adventure. Loved the boat, driver and guide we had. Noticed some other companies boats were smaller and they looked like they were getting wet. the ride there is bumpy on the waves and a bit bigger boat is appreciated. Also noted the much bigger boats could not go in every cave. The tour was great, the caves are amazing geological wonders. Happy we did this one. We were lucky to have Portuguese Adam Sandler as our guide. Interesting and funny.

    Fantastic natural beauty
Had a great trip out here, loved going in the caves and now the rules have changed when you go in this cave it’s not full of kayaks anymore. Whilst I know the new rules can be restrictive, I do see the positive side. Gorgeous photo opportunity to be had.

    Kayak trip to Bengali caves
Fantastic few hours, the caves were amazing to see up close and inside. We went on a kayak tour, great guide. The speed boats didn't get as good a view and made the water extremely choppy, which was fun. Parking can be an issue, the only car park is full by 11, so get there early.

The caves are undoubtedly beautiful. The natural rock formations are quite something to see. Love the way the light came though to shine on the sea, completely changing the colour. That bit was beautiful. However, it was quite hard to enjoy what should have been a lovely serene experience with too many boats, kayaks, and people. It was too overcrowded and quite noisy. It was still cool to visit and I am glad we went, but it was just a little too busy for my liking.

The sea was very unsettled when we went and so that made it a difficult sail. The caves were great to see. Very unusual but it was very busy, lots and lots of boats, paddle boarders and kayaks. At times it was so busy with boats I worried about the paddle boarders. The best part was when we anchored away from the others and had a swim in the sea. I wouldn’t go again, it’s a long trip too.

Not worth the time, money and effort anymore due to the new restrictions. Due to the insane crowds in August 2024, new rules are now being enforced by the maritime authority for visitation to Benagil Cave. The fines can be substancial. Currently, there is a ban on swimming into the cave (no swimming allowed inside of the cave). Kayaks and boats are not permitted to land on the beach inside. Kayaks are allowed inside the cave, but this must be done on a guided tour and there is a limit to the number of kayaks. If the maximum number of Kayaks inside was reached all other have to wait out at sea to get their turn....that can take a lot. There is also a time limit to how long visitors are allowed to remain in the cave. Boats(motorized) 2 minutes, Kayaks 8 minutes. Forget about that...you loose hours(to drive there, being 30minutes ahead of the start of the experience to be prepared and schooled by the company before you actually get to the sea at all) and all that for 2 or 8 minutes inside...

Due to overcrowding there are new rules at Benagil. Motor boats can no longer go in the cave, kayaks and paddle boards are not longer allowed to beach on the shore and, and swimming there is prohibited. Just make sure you know before you go. Fines for swimming are up to €2500.

Disappointed as could not go inside the caves. It was an Hour long boat trip and if you like sea you may like it. However, it seems that government has banned the entry so no fun seeing it from the outside.

Enjoyed the boat ride with “ Arnold Dutch “ and “ Super Mario”. The Duo kept our spirits up with their lively commentary and humour. We spotted a family of Dolphins , admired caves and rocks labelled as KingKong , Godzilla and nose!! Finally enjoyed a fast Miami style ride back to the shore .

After parking walk down to Benagil beach sheltered between the cliffs. From here we took the boat, booked at the moment and saw the coastline and the many caves. Getting off the boat is an adventure in itself as tou ride up onto the beach. You can also see the algar or grotto a short walk from the parking lot. Great to see both ways.
