I made a last minute booking for gorilla trekking and was a little bit worried about if it was going to be ok. Fortunatelly, it couldn't have been better. Very quick correspondence made it possible. My guide, Faruk, a very good driver with a lot of information about everything I asked about. All the time I felt very safe and comfortable.

Seeing the Igisha Group of gorillas is something we will never forget. There are of course many options for securing permits, but Moses and our driver/guide Innocent made the whole process seamless. We did the two-day tour with a Kigali city tour. They picked us up the first morning and at our special request, they made time for us to see the Kigali genocide memorial and also a Rwandan market, as well as the Nyamirambo Women’s Center, a cooperative that sells beautiful locally made clothing and accessories. Then we drove to the area of Volcanoes National Park, where we stayed at Gorilla Solutions Lodge and visited the Gorilla Guardians cultural village. The next day, we woke up early to go to the Park for orientation, and then Innocent drove us to our trailhead. We hiked about 90 minutes up (we had self-selected for intermediate difficulty), led by guides and porters who work for the Park. We spent an hour with the gorillas, which was an indescribable experience. After hiking down, we were driven back to Kigali by the late afternoon. Again, every step was well-planned and we did not have to worry about any of the logistics during our time in Rwanda, thanks to Moses and Innocent,

I could easily ask Moses any questions about the tour and he tried to get back to me as soon as possible. However, he should've advised me not to wear anything in bright colors on my gorilla trek. The information might be there on the website already but I didn't think about that before so I didn't check it. The driver Faruk was the best. He traveled a long way from Kampala to pick me up in Kigali and also had to drive back to Kampala at the end of the trip. He was knowledgeable and had everything I needed ready for me including the gaiters to cover my slightly bright colored shoes and protect myself from red ants. The stay at Agandi Eco Lodge was awesome. It was a clean, comfortable and eco-friendly, though they didn't have a hairdryer. Seeing precious creatures like those mountain gorillas in Bwindi was one of the most memorable experiences! This tour company was trustworthy and based on my experience, it was safe for a solo female traveler.

We got a recommendation of this company from a friend as his safari had been excellent experience. We started planning our safari together with F&M approximately six months prior to travelling. It was very smooth and accurate process, we got replies to our questions without any delays and alternatives to choose what ever fits into our schedule. Once we arrived to Uganda, everything was just perfectly inline with what was agreed. Faruk who was our driver, guide and a man who felt like a good friend after we spent over a week with him - made our visit in Uganda unforgettable. His knowledge of the wildlife was amazing and we learned so much from him. We will never forget everything he did for our comfort. Additionally he is the best jeep-driver ever... If you plan to go to safari it is worth listening to the guide’s suggestions - no matter if it concerns the routing or the schedule when to go for a game run. Be prepared for some early mornings if you really want to see wildlife in action. We saw all the wild animals we could possibly think in advance; lions yawning and playing, leopard jumping in a tree, lots of giraffes, antilopes and elefants. Of course we also went watching the life of chimpanzees as well as the mountain gorilla tracking. Visiting Rhino-park and having a Nile cruise in order to see hippos and crocodiles completed the experience. People in Uganda are friendly, they speak english and they make visitors to feel welcome. We can truly recommended F&M Adventure Safaris to make your travel plans and exceed your expectations.

From the moment we were picked up by Muhumuza Christopher (our driver and guide) until we said our good byes with bug hugs and comfortably calling him our friend we were in good hands. The roads were a bit rough at times but he handled them well and we were confident with him as a driver. Meeting the battwa people later that day after a stop along the way for lunch was a wonderfully emotional experience. We chose moderate lodging and stayed at Rushaga Gorilla camp which which we were blown away by. The landscape around it was amazing, the decks off the room with huge windows were so inviting. The meals and staff were equally inpressive. Our gorilla trek the following day is one of the most incredible experiences i ever have had. I now can proudly state i have been charged at by a silverback gorilla, but once he realized we were not a threat we were graced by his majestic presence for quite some time along with 3 other member of his pride. (We could hear the others but couldn’t not see them). We followed main trails for a few miles and when the trackers communicated we were as close as we could get on the trails and our guide, Peace, started hacking a path for us through the undergrowth. When we finally caught up with the gorillas it was a magical hour with them. We then made the drive back to Rwanda with Christopher happily answering our many questions. The van we had for the four of us was plenty big and very comfortable as well. I would hands down recommend this group and request christopher if you can!
