A wonderful tour. They had a plate of fresh fruit from local farms, for each group, for us to enjoy upon our arrival. Our guide gave us a history from the time of the sugar cane plantations up until now, and the farms mission to use sustainable agricultural to grow food. We had the opportunity to press sugar cane stock into juice. Very refreshing. We then walked around the farm learning about some of the trees and fruit that they are growing there. We then retuned to the outdoor kitchen and enjoyed a bowl of banana ice cream - so good! It was a great experience - for all ages.

We took the Taste of Hawaii tour last week and were blown away with the whole experience. Me and wifey wanted to see more of the island then just the resorts. We got to taste a plethora of farm fruits, taro many different ways and best of all sugar cane juice.

The amount of care the folks who run the farm give to the land was incredible (they don't even use tractors) and we left inspired. Don't miss out on this gem while you are visiting Maui.

My husband & I had a wonderful time touring LA Kahea Community Farm. Our guide, Winsome, obviously loves what she does & her enthusiasm really shines through. She was very patient answering all of the many questions from me and the other guests. The banana "nice" cream treat at the end of the tour was delicious (and it was so good to find a lactose-free alternative to regular ice cream). I highly recommend this tour as a worthwhile alternative to standard tourist options!

Not to offend the workers or owners, I have to warn others, this the worst farm "tour" I have seen. I can't even call it a farm or a tour. It's more like an endless and aimless rambling on an randomly growing unkept greenery! The garden seems as disorganized as the tour and registration. I have seen many farms tours as I homeschool my kids and live in a farm rich area. Tour means that you will be walked thru a beautiful garden and be told about the trees, and that is usually done for a fraction of the price they charge here! Here you are basically paying 100s of dollars for a plate of beautifully arranged fruits that are not even grown on this farm ( only banana was from this farm and the coconut was terrible) . Don't expect any entertainment that any other farms provide. No ride though the farm, no particular story, no pretty trees. Really shocking for this price. People that leave good reviews, have they never been to a week kept farm that has education info, entertainment and some kind of program??

Not a moment of the tour was spent inside, although some of it was under a roof. So from a COVID standpoint, there's little to worry about. You get to taste a few varieties of taro and watch poi being made. They talk you through their methodology and tenets. If you're interested in sustainable agriculture at all, this is an interesting and easily accessible tour.

Outstanding educational tour of the owners taking advanced of a compact space to grow fruit. Incredibly educational. I don’t agree with the 1 rating of 1. The guide was very informative. If you are looking for a farm tour of a small farm, this is a good one.

This was such an amazing experience. We learned so much about regenerative farming, fruits on Maui and got to taste about 7 different Maui grown fruit. The sugar cane juice was so refreshing, and especially good with lime. It was a wonderful tour and Anna was extremely knowledgeable.

The farm tour was just as described. Great for adults looking to learn more about local farming efforts to improve the land. Loved tasting the local produce, making the sugar cane drink, and the banana ice cream. Lots of information and opportunity for questions. Be aware it can be hot, is rustic, with mostly shade. The garden is very natural and not groomed like many may expect. We loved the natural aspects of it and all the information. If you want a fancy, beautiful garden, and facilities this is not it.

Anna was great, same to Winsome, made you feel at home. It's a bit rustic. the part of the farm you are touring in very pretty and they are doing quite a bit of work you can see. apparently the areas we couldn't go to where they harvest more for their taco tortillas. the snacks were great and the mission was inspiring. definitely worth the experience. anna was passionate and informative. banana sorbet with the vanilla macadamia notes - so refreshing and delightful. You could feel the love in the air.
