Fishing tournament for charity
Apr 2019 • Friends
This beach is so quiet and so beautiful and you wouldn’t think that just passing through. We went on a fishing tournament and were WOWED by the views before sunrise and after. We had great fishing and so much fun! There is a playground, bar and grill (with the best ceviche in Costa Rica I might add) and a sweet little town. I wouldn’t stay the night here but I’d visit the beach for some quiet, great views and a drink and snack. If you’re a fisherman, you MUST check into Juan Mora sport fishing because they work so hard to make sure you have the best experience AND place in the tourney! A beach for all❤️

Beautiful Costa Rican beach near Samara
Mar 2019
Only spent a few minutes here on a drive from Samara. Like every other beach in Costa Rica we have found, uncrowded and beautiful.

We stopped here to go to the beach. Great place for a swim and to relax. There is a shaded picnic table were had lunch. Small shops and restaurants for the locals are near by.

Super cool authentic beach town
Jan 2019 • Couples
Would highly recommend a stop in Garza, as it is more authentic to the beach town experience than Nosara up the road (even though I love it there!).

A lot more low-key and better to fully "get away" from it all!

Quiet local fisherman beach
Aug 2018
We love Garza. It has such a different vibe than more touristy neighbor Guiones. Garza feels raw and real and local. It's great for walking around on, grabbing a drink and food at Garza Beach Lounge and swimming while you wait.

you will be alone

It was great having one mile of beach to ourselves and the fishermen and hermit crabs. We prefer the north side of the beach which is accessible by an off road from the main road.

Biodiversity and smoke
Dec 2017 • Family
On our northern path we decided to try Garza Beach. Garza Beach is not enough advertised and very difficult to reach - we had to drive through a river, however the scenery, serenity, and species we found there created a great afternoon at the beach.
Local boats were on the shore and kids were playing in a natural pool. Tide had left behind material for a whole semester to study: sea stars, different schools of fish, crabs, and hermit crabs. We found the biggest conch shell under the tracks of an ATV. We had coconut water directly from the source, enjoyed a shopping session of marine goodies (store has plenty of fish and sea fruits), and met a large family of howler monkeys while leaving. Going in and out were in curtains of smoke from burning horse manure :)...

Quiet place to check out
Mar 2017 • Solo
Nice quiet beach to check out. No waves but a nice beach to chill out at. More of a locals beach with tico families having fun.

Beautiful beach with shade and for swimming
May 2017 • Family
Playa Garza is a beautiful long beach. It is a perfect bay with a wide sand beach. Due to the trees there is also some shade. There is a village on the central part of the beach and some simple sodas (restaurants).
During the week there are not a lot of people at the beach.

One of the best beaches I've been
Mar 2017 • Solo
The beach is amazing there, there are hardly any tourists there and it is usually quiet. The sunsets are spectacular although you can't see the sun set over the water. It is a very nice beach with a lot of palm trees to it. Great for morning and evening walks. A little hot during the day, due to limited shade.
