This was our 2nd time working with Jo. He provided us with details on how to meet him at the cruise port. He introduced us to our driver and told us to have a great day. We had previously worked out a schedule with Jo in advance of where we all wanted to go for the day. There were 6 of us and we had a private bus to ourselves for a very reasonable cost. They provided us with water, beer, and rum punch on the bus. We toured the whole island, Orient Bay for some beach time, Grand Case for lunch at the lolos, Maho for some airplane beach time and Philipsburg for some shopping and afternoon snacks and drinks time. We departed in Philipsburg so we had to find our own way back to the ship based on the time frame we paid for. All and all it was a great day, the traffic in Simpson Bay set us back a bit so we didn’t have time for all of our stops. Our group are all craft beer lovers, so we asked our 1st stop to be the new island brewery called Caribbean Brewing Company. Our driver was not aware of the brewery, but we researched ahead and guided him to the location.

We booked a tour with another company and missed the bus. Joe was there and offered to take us to Maho Beach and Orient Beach. He was very professional, knowledgeable and funny! He told us about all kinds of interesting things about the island and happily answered all of our questions. He had beer, rum punch and soft drinks that he offered us. We didn’t want to spend a lot of time at Maho beach and wanted to spend extra time at Orient beach and he was happy to accommodate us. 1000% would recommend Joe and his tours. Very safe driver, very entertaining and would most definitely book with him again. Feel free to ask me any questions if you have any. Thanks Joe, from Roy & Clare and Josh, Brooke & Paisley

We booked a custom tour with Jo Junie Tours to take us to Maho Beach, Toppers Rhum, and the Amsterdam Cheese & Liquor Store. There were 8 of us, and the van we were assigned to was plenty big for us to be comfortable. Forville was our driver, and he was wonderful! He shared bits of history as we headed to our destinations, and he was very funny. We got to spend as much time as we wanted at each stop, and Forville kept the van cool for us. I would highly recommend Jo Junie Tours and will use them again!

I was traveling solo in another country and made a point of staying safe by keeping in larger groups. I booked only group tours from reputable companies who have been in business for a while. I selected an island tour with a one hour beach stop, see phillipsburg and tour both the french and dutch sides. My driver Etienne picked me up for the group tour in a car. I thought he was taking me to join the group (which is common). After about 15 minutes I asked where are the others and he said it's just you. I tried to make the most of it, but it ultimately felt like a nightmare date where I feared for my safety. Etienne's tour of the french side consisted of him taking me by his personal residence and a drive by the nude beach. He stopped at one point to talk for 15-20 mins with his friend. To break up the conversation I asked for water. Before giving me (his customer) a drink he offered his friend one. When I asked for rum punch he had no cups. To get this tour over with I said can we stop to eat. Well we did and then he put his $20USD meal on my tab....no beach stop, not an island tour. I don't know what to call this but it definitely was NOT an island tour. I know no more about the island now than I did before the tour. I wanted to wait until I returned home before doing the review because it is a small island and you never know who knows who. Also, I did not complain to the owner because I was staying on the island for a month and as I said before you never know who knows who.

I booked a private island tour where I got to choose the destinations we went for day. I was a bit nervous as this was the first time I have ever booked an excursion outside of the cruise company but I had no need to worry. Danica was amazing she knew so much about the island and took us to all the spots we wanted to go and some more. Nothing was too much trouble and even when my mum couldn't handle the heat she was happy to entertain her in the comfort of air conditioning in the car.
She was a safe driver which is a huge relief.

The esky of colds drinks was such a welcomed and great addition particularly with the heat.

I can recommend Jo Junie tours enough this was the highlight of our cruise.

We booked with Jo Junie Tours for our Celebrity Cruise in March. There were 11 of us in our party. We paid 45 dollars each for the tour. They make you pay 45 dollars even for kids under 12. The price was more than we were quoted which was 40 dollars. They picked us up on time and they did provide free drinks, but there was really no tour. They took us to the airport to see the planes land and then took us to the Orient Bay beach which everyone goes to. We thought this being a tour they would take us to some less tourist type places, but no. Also when you get to the beach, Jo Junie Tours is connected to a restaurant on the beach. The driver will take you there and then they charge you $10 for a dumpy umbrella and 10 dollars for a dumpy chair. That is in addition to the 45 dollars you already paid for the tour. Restaurant owner and the taxi company and the tour group are all in on it. Everyone is getting a small kick back. Do yourself and everyone in your group a favor. Save your money and take a simple cab ride to the beach or look for a different tour company. Jo Junie Tours was not worth the money.

My wife and I are honeymooning on a 7 day cruise. After reading reviews, we set up doing the 6hr tour through Jo Junie. We got off the boat, and after finding the edc parking lot, we were met by our driver, Luscious. We had to wait a short while for another couple, who never showed. So, we ultimately had the tour to ourself. Luscious was polite, knowledgeable and very accomodating. We got to see all the highlights without feeling rushed. We had a great time, and would certainly recommend this tour group to anyone! Please note, we have come in "low season"...which begins mid may. If you want a slower pace, plan your travel accordingly. High season is super busy, and unless you opt for the private tours (we would) you will be in a large group. I imagine the tour would be excellent, just not as flexible as it was for just us. Thank you Luscious, and thank you Jo Junie tours for being the highlight of our vacation!

We're a Canadian family of 4 (kids 22 & 24), took this tour with a couple & thier 2 young children from New York who were easy to get along with.
Booked this excursion based on other's online reviews . ( went Feb 22nd 2012).
Well worth the $40 per person - equal to a $89 - $99 tour any cruiseline would offer.
Maho Beach was Awsome.Take some Euro's for shopping at Marigot Market's Indoor Mall - ability to speak French benificial here, Orient Beach has restaurants with $2. Beer\Buckets of beer cheaper, Snorkel & Jetski rentals & Parasailing might be available. (Orient beach is next door to nudist beach)
Rum Punch was Great, Beer & Pop on board as well.
Jo speaks clear English, can answer your questions and provides great explaination on points of interest between tour stops, you'll be comfortable as he doesn't rush you, Van's clean.
Try the Bushwacker !

Four of us got a tour of the island in a private vehicle with a great driver, Etienne. We went all over, stopped whenever we wanted to, and learned a lot about the island.

The tour was half the price of a similar tour through our cruise ship, and lasted 2 hours longer.

Everything was conducted via email, which was fast and courteous. Everything wnt as planned and everyone was helpful and friendly.

Visited St Marten as part of P&O cruise on Ventura. This was a fantastic trip. We were met at the port by Jo, and introduced to our guide Etienne, who was very humorous, knowledgeable and passionate about the island. We stopped at some beautiful spots, such as Bikini beach, Marigot and Maho beach to see the planes, but it was the extra things like Calvin the sea urchin man, and looking for Iguanas that added to the experience. Also, cool refreshments were in plentiful supply - the rum punch was very nice. We had said to Jo at the outset that we were worried about getting back to the cruise ship on time, but he assured us that we would be fine, and i'm sure that at one point he rang Etienne to make sure we were on schedule - nice touch. I would recommend this tour to anyone who visits St.Maarten.
