We were lucky enough that one of the employees turned up and opened three restored houses for us. One was a 300 year old house and the other one a 500 year old one. Everything was original. Most fascinating were the doors with their original opening and lock devices. The whole village is a living museum. A must visit for everyone.

Fascinating medieval village in the mountains. The guide explained the history of the village. It had lovely flowers dotted around. The taverna had some interesting meals on the menu. Views over the mountains were lovely. Its a long winding drive to get there but well worth it.

Fikardou an authentic old Cypriot village. You feel that the time was frozen. The old roads with authentic houses... the festival is amazing : you taste almost all traditional Cypriot foods such as halloumi, palouze, trahana etc I liked it..!

What a wonderful old village, We visited it on a tour of the Troodos villages. We were so lucky to have a very knowledgeable guide to show us round the various houses. It's in a beautiful area but it's quite isolated and it must have been a hard way of life for the villagers. It's now a heritage museum. We very much enjoyed wandering around and looking in the houses. Fascinating.

My first visit ever to Fikardou was a nostalgic trip to the past old traditional Cyprus. The whole experience was excellent and it is certainly worth the try especially for young Cypriots to meet and learn about the past.

Fikardou in general is a true hidden gem.
It is one of the only fully authentic unspoiled ancient villages on the island.
A little stroll through the narrow alleys takes you back in time.
The little local rural museum shows you what life looked like up to 500 years ago in the village. For a modest entrance fee (2.5 Euros) the lovely guide will walk you through the beautifully kept/maintained/restored old homes ranging from 150 to 500 years old.
This includes furniture, cooking utensils, weaving looms and storage cellars (housing a 500 year old wine press...!!).
This is like a time machine!!
We loved it!!
So Will You!!!
