About
Atelier Assaf is an eco-tourism project that sits quietly in the fertile valley of Al Warhaniyeh, in Shouf Caza, and embodies the harmony between nature, culture and art. Surrounded by 10,000 sq meters of virgin nature, the project was initiated by three artists (the Assaf brothers) and is devoted to showcasing a private collection of cultural and environmental art. The Atelier contains a sculpture park and museum, a rural environmental house, and a small botanical garden. We offer guided tours, that can be customised to our guests’ visits, and that aim to: - Introduce the art and process of sculpting – starting with forming in Clay, casting in Resin and Bronze, then Stone carving; - Acquaint with our rural and environmental house and the process of building it using stone and other natural materials; - Familiarise with wild plants and trees - an initiative that is in collaboration with the AUB Nature Conservation Center. Atelier Assaf is now closed and will re-open April 2018.

Very interesting place to visit both for adults and children. Assaf brothers are great hosts. They made an amazing excursion about the local plants (we have even tasted all possible seasonal fruits and nuts (: ), eco-friendly house construction and farming and especially sculpturing. We have seen sculptures of the famous Lebanese of the 20th century in a museum. All of them are made by Assaf brothers in limestone, bronze or resin. At the end we had a coffee break on a chill terrace under the trees. We highly recommend this place for Lebanese and foreign visitors.

3 brothers, all exquisite sculptors in stone, granite and marble have created a tranquil space in which to display their work and workshop, A school of sculpture is to be built on the land so that the talents of these gentlemen will be passed on to others. The site is totally eco-friendly, with an array of beautiful plants and flowers. Samah, the English speaking guide (excellent English) was passionate and well informed. This is a very special place and worth a diversion. The entry fee is nominal and the marketing is low key, but if you like sculpture in a natural setting, this is a must. The small museum is breathtaking; the skills of these sculptors is astonishing. you will be offered refreshment at the end of your visit. A vehicle is essential. However driving in Lebanon is not for the faint-hearted. I can pass on the name of a brilliant English speaking guide/driver. Take sun-screen and a hat as the main tour is outside. Historically interesting figures in the landscaped gardens. World wide commissions undertaken. Highly recommended.

The three Assaf brothers, all of them sculptors and nature lovers, as well as part-time botanists/decorators are the soul of this place.
Atelier Assaf is partly carved in the mountain itself, partly organic with environmental architecture playing an important role and integrating trees that already grew on the land into the place's layout, and fully relaxing and beautiful.
When you arrive there, you get your own guide who takes you through a smartly designed circuit from discovering endemic trees and plants (and their traditional uses) to understanding the topography of the terrain and how the three brothers built around it. Carved rocks and waterways slowly lead you to a succession of sculptures laid outdoor, ranging in style from classical to abstract, all of them with a purpose. You then enter the workshop where you get a comprehensive idea of the sculpting process and the creativity that goes in it. This is followed by a visit to the sculpture gallery/museum that pays tribute to people who marked Lebanon's history. At the end of the tour, you can relax on the oak tree terrace and enjoy a coffee and seasonal fruits while looking out to the valley or just stroll around the grounds. There is a collection of bonsai-style trees (including olive trees, cedars, pomegranates, etc.) by one of the Assaf brothers which is also a good point of interest.
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and kind, taking the time to explain different things, from botany to architecture, sculpture, and the history of the place.
If you want to discover the Shouf, you can spend part of your day here and enjoy a delicious homemade vegan lunch at the nearby Coara restaurant (about 20 minutes away in the village of Warhanieh)

Atelier Assaf! What a rare and unique gem in Mount Lebanon. This place offers a unique combination of the beautiful elements of nature, vegetation, and sculpting mixed with the distinct passion of the Assaf brothers. From the moment you step into the atelier, you can feel the charm of the place. The tour offered by the Assaf brothers themselves was engaging to us, our teenagers and our little one. The details and creativity of the sculptures can't be described with words. You can only appreciate this place when you visit it. Highly recommended!

This is perhaps one of most memorable trips in a long time. Tucked away in the beautiful Chouf area of Warhaniye is Atelier Assaf. A place of natural beauty and friendly hosts. Brothers Assaf, Mansoor and Aref are professional sculptors that have converted a bareb but beautiful plot of land into an impressive tourist destination. There is nothing fake about this place. You get a warm welcome from the moment you arrive. You are then taken on a tour around the place and get to see all the different types of plants. Along the way you get to see the amazing sculptures. Most notable is the one for Kamal Jumblatt and the amazing 7 peice sculpure of Michael Neimi. You then get to see the workshop where they create their amazing works of art. Once done you can sit in the beautiful setting under the trees for a local saj snack with local vegetables. I highly recommend visiting this place. Entrance fees are a very modest 10,000 Lira ($6.5) for adults 5,000 Lira for kids under 12. I will be returning with future guests. Well done Assaf brothers on this amazing establishment. Wishing you all the best in the future and looking forward to seeing your expansion plans a reality.

Since first watching a news report about Atelier Assaf, I have visited the place numerous times with family and friends. Every time, I cannot help but be drifted away by its natural beauty and serenity (the place being located in a valley in the Shouf region). The creativity of the three owners, the Assaf brothers, shines through visual arts and architecture and thoughtfully highlights the intimate harmony existing between nature, culture and art.
When you visit Lebanon I advise that you dedicate a day to visiting the Shouf region, and particularly this beautiful place (which is ideally located in close proximity to the famous Shouf Cedar Reserves).

Arriving there because my nephew heard about this place ,I was hesitant to enter but when the majority decided to go in I followed the flow,to my biggest surprise it is one of the best places I have been to ,taking into consideration that I am art and culture lover .Not only it is a bank for culture to be sustained for the coming generations ,it includes a botanic garden ,sculptures with a unique piece of our great writer Michael Nehaime that should enter history for its innovation and ended up sitting under an amazingly trimmed oak tree to listen to the rich life experiences of the three brothers
