A very peaceful and beautiful place, with a lot of history, not too far from Halki. The frescoes are quite faded, but it would help to buy the guide book available at the church to understand the history better. It is not at all crowded,...More

While small, the antiquity of the church is very intriguing. It is said that the Byzantine church is the oldest in the Balkans.

This church, dating back to the 4th century CE, and added to over the centuries, is worth visiting for the Byzantine frescoes- faded , but still impressive. And the lovely old ladies from the nearby village who sell their own handicrafts outside the church!

A wonderful find! Hidden away, but a history dating back to the 6th century with later additions. A wonderful example of the buildings of the time, with fairly well preserved frescos internally and an interesting design externally. It's worth buying the €5 guide book -...More
