About
Fun loving fishing captain Captain Justin Ravenel grew up riding horses on a quarter horse farm and exploring the many tidal creeks of Edisto and surrounding areas. He loves meeting new people and taking them on adventures in the vast expanse of marshes and wetlands called the Lowcountry.

My family (and puppy) went on a boat tour with Justin and we had the greatest time. After we left, we kept talking about how great the day was, and what a great Captain Justin was. It was obvious he really cares about the area and he made sure to teach us about and show us the true beauty of Edisto. He showed us some plantations, many dolphins, a shark (my favorite), a sea turtle, and even some alligators. We originally went to find shells but ended up having such a great time on the boat that we stayed on the boat most of the time. Sometimes, people just want to get money and be done with their job for the day. It truly felt like he was excited and loved showing us around. My dog tried to sit in his lap the entire time. We will definitely be back next time we are in Edisto. Thank you so much Justin. See you next time!

I took my two daughters(4&6) fishing with Captain Justin, we had an amazing time catching redfish in the creeks. He is very patient with children, his boat is awesome (Action-Craft) and he truly cares about giving you a low country experience. Highly recommend!! We can't wait to go again!

I don't know where to start; the beautiful view from the boat ride in the open waters to the shallow creeks, it is the best way to experience the lowcountry in all it's glory. It was an absolutely amazing day. Captain Ravenel will put you on them! His knowledge of the waterways and tides put me at ease while on the charter. He has definitely done his homework, he put me right in the middle of a school of Reds and talk about an adrenaline rush. To be that close to all the different wildlife was exhilarating. I'm looking forward to my next trip.

Low Country adventure perfect for all ages. Our dolphin tour with Capt Justin was enjoyable, informative, and the perfect way to spend a late Sunday afternoon in the Edisto Island area. Seeing dolphins is never guaranteed but see them we did, both from a distance and right by the boat. Learned a lot about the area too - everything from oyster farms to haunted plantations. Highly recommend this tour to those looking to spend some time on the water.

The exact quote from my 14-year-old son, stepping off the boat after our fishing charter with Captain Justin, "Top Fishing Experience of All Time". This is coming from a kid who has had a rod in his hand since age 5. Captain Justin's brand of sight fishing the shallow marsh was the most exciting kind of fishing we've tried. We navigated some small channels to arrive right on top of some monster drum schools.
You can find Captain Justin Ravenel by searching for the best fishing charter in Edisto, SC or by reading reviews for fishing charters in Edisto and looking for ravenelfishingcharters.
If you are in Edisto and love to fish, you will not regret investing in this experience. Justin is a top-quality guide, with the local knowledge you only get growing up here on the water. On top of all that, he's just a great guy to hang out with for the day.
I'd give this experience 11 stars if they let me. Just do it.

One of the most epic parts of our trip to Edisto was starting our morning with Ravenel Fishing Charters. Captain Justin was awesome and taught us soo much! For the first time ever we actually had a successful fishing experience where we caught actual fish! And that’s not all! We saw all kinds of wildlife and action in and around the water - beautiful birds, jumping fish, cruising dolphins, active alligators and more. The cherry on top was the fact that we reeled in a real deal shark!!! What an amazing experience for my entire family but especially for our seven year older. He was in complete awe the entire time. It always feels great to connect with someone who absolutely loves what they do and Captain Justin’s love for the water and everything in and around it is contagious. He made sure we loved every second of our excursion and we’ve been talking about it ever since.

Justin is an extremely down to earth and knowledgeable fishing guide who got us onto fish right away. From Sea Trout, Red Fish, Bonnet Shark and Skate. My buddy Ross and I caught it all and plenty of it.
Go with an open relaxed mind and let Justin give you one of the best fishing experiences you can have. We caught our limit, enjoyed the scenery, adhered to all the dock safety rules and had a ton of laughs.
Book with Justin and you won't be disappointed. He's guaranteed to find you fish Above and Below the water!!!
Thanks again Justin....Ken I.

Had an absolutely great time. A low pressure system had blown in which can make fishing difficult but we still managed to catch shark, Drum, and Redfish. The highlight was chasing the Reds back up into the tidal creeks. He knew what the fish would do and where they were headed. Highly recommend him.

For my birthday, I received a gift certificate for Ravenel Fishing Charters! What a great gift idea! Also, what a great birthday experience. Captain Ravenel is surely passionate about his life’s work. He knew exactly where to take me to catch the fish that I was interested in …spot tail bass and flounder. Captain Ravenel is very knowledgeable about the waterways in Charleston, SC. My day was filled with the blessings of the lowcountry salt waterways. AND, I was fortunate enough to be able to stay in the Ravenel’s Air BnB on a farm in the country! The room was spacious and comfortable AND the stars……so many stars out at night in the country. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise and hospitality. I can’t wait for my next fishing adventure!

Captain Ravenel produced my first and great experience to fish redfish. He has much experiences to deliver to the fish points and his advice was so sharp. Also, he is a gentleman and polite. I will book his guide again.
