We were driving towards Cork from Dublin and saw a sign along the way for the Mitchelstown Caves, so decided to go. We are so so glad we did. The entry fee is only €10 each for an adult, and it’s money well spent. The cave is kept very natural and true to its original state, and the tour guide (apologies I can’t remember her name!) was so knowledgable and fun. Well worth a visit …

My two sisters & I visited the caves on Tuesday last. A lovely, sound, girl that worked there let us in as the last tour of the day. She was really great. She gave us loads of time, told us interesting stories, and made the tour very enjoyable. We didn't get her name but she's the girl who thinks the rock feature at the "stage" looks like a dragon. The caves themselves are very impressive- and you only see a part of what is actually down there! They were following COVID guidelines- masks/visors worn & it was easy to social distance.…

We booked our tour and really enjoyed our experience. We have 2 small kids and despite the steps they managed ok. The younger one had to be carried as she slowed up the rest of the tour but the tour guide from the start said there was no rush on anyone! She was very informative and pleasant. Amazing facts and mindblowing stuff! Highly recommended, especially when they turn off the lights 60 metre underground!!! …

Myself and my husband have just visited this attraction. We pre booked which is recommended in these times. We were very impressed with the swift registration and admission. There was antibacterial gel provided (covid-19) provided at admission desk. After a short walk up a small incline we were met by Kate our guide at the entrance to the cave. Small steep steps took us down into 3 seperate caverns where Kate explained how it was created. We really enjoy the visit and Kate answered questions clearly and in a way that was easily understood by all ages. Well worth a visit!…

Horribly managed...I hear that the cave is beautiful, but I wouldn't know, after driving over 2.5 hours to get here, we were very rudely turned away. We were told that they would not take us on a tour of the caverns because we are only 2 ppl... apparently 2 paying customers are not enough for these selfish jerks. I sat in the parking lot for over an hour waiting for anyone else to show up so that we could go on the tour. After 2 hours drive time and an hour sitting in the parking lot...I felt like the 3 hours I had already wasted was enough to give up on this cave. You would think that they would be happy to have paying customers... the place was completely dead. VERY UNFORTUNATE. The entire time I've been in Ireland, I have noticed how nice and helpful ppl are... with Mitchelstown Cave manager and staff being the ONLY EXCEPTION! This place is horrible and incapable of understanding the situation that they are placing their patrons in. They gave me some BS excuse about insurance preventing them from taking us on the tour... YET NONE OF THE OTHER CAVES IN IRELAND HAVE THIS POLICY OR INSURANCE PROBLEM!!! Maybe Mitchelstown Cave should invest in a REAL insurance company like the other cave systems have done. I DO NOT RECOMMEND SPENDING YOUR MONEY WITH THIS COMPANY... GO TO ANY OF THE OTHER LIMESTONE CAVES IN IRELAND... I'VE SEEN MANY OF THEM THIS WEEK... Dunmore, Ailwee, Doolin, Marble Arch Caves were AMAZING! ALL OF THE OTHERS ARE WORTHY OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY...NOT THIS ONE!…
