Nimith Waterfalls worth the ride
Jun 2020 • Friends
Beautiful scenery, Mekong River flowing over the rocks with powerful force falling down the rocks at several places, so there are about 5 or 6 falls to be seen. Yet save to get into the river by the banks and splash around.

Worth a detour
Oct 2019 • Friends
The largest waterfall on earth, counted by the whith of the Mekong River, but you see really only 800 m of the enormous river. Anyway the views are very interesting and the surrounding park is well organised.

Don’t miss this!
Sep 2019 • Family
More than 40km from Steung Treng city and you need to get more than 30km off road which almost 1 hour 30min drive to reach destination with off road and bumpy road with dust with mud and quiet. So avoid driving at night time and raining time. Car entrance only 5000riel and you will definitely amaze because those water naturally fall so heavy and sound really nature and it’s definitely dangerous to play so most of tourists are coming here for a memorable photos only.
I rate this place as the key attraction to visit!

Apr 2019 • Family
Traveled with family to waterfall and it is beautiful and close to border between Cambodia and Lao , it is very big waterfall places in Cambodia and it about 5 up to 6 km wide and can swim also some area but there are no internet access now at waterfall area. Have some guesthouses and it is nice and quiet to stay there but most of Travellers they continue to stay at stung treng city , it is about 45 km from waterfall. The road to waterfall it very good condition but it is also very Dusty.

Travel to Cambodia/Preah VIhear Province for work, but my collaborators took me out to this amazing place.

Amazing place!! However, you need a permit to travel to the area. Furthermore, it is wise to travel with locals (i.e., they now the ins and outs of how to get there, what/whom to visit, and most importantly: How to respect the place and the people in the area).

Spectacular Waterfall Well Worth Seeing
Dec 2018 • Couples
Being on the border of Cambodia and Laos in Stung Treng and Preah Vihear provinces it really is a gem to behold. Shared with friends felt a spiritual experience. The wonder of life and feeling put in place and perspective. A joy to visit and behold

Preah Romkel and waterfall
Nov 2018 • Couples
It is hard to find much info about this place online so maybe this will be of use to someone...

Preah Rumkel/ Romkel is a little village on the Mekong near this waterfall. It’s a nice place to visit on moto, described by some as seeing the 4000 Islands on the otherwise of the border, before tourism really hit.

4km past the village north- or entering from the other side it’s after the waterfall turn off- there is a small tourist area ($2 entry). There is a little beach area for a swim/ watching the sunset, a restaurant and a few stalls with the usual tourist tat.

From here you can get a boat trip to see the dolphins for $15; it takes under an hour including the time sitting on a bank watching for them in the distance (after which you float through the area and hopefully they pop up closer to you). I thought it was worth the money.

There is one guest house here, rooms/ bungalows are fairly fancy/
spacious with hot showers and AC, and cost $15. There is a homestay option for $8. Food at the local restaurant was whatever you were given- and not bad- and cost $5 per person including beer.

The waterfall itself is 9km away from this area and is worth a quick visit and another $2 ticket. There are more of the usual tourist stalls here and a hideous looking casino and buses bringing in tourists. The waterfall is more impressive that the photos give credit for though. You can bathe with the locals at the top of the falls.

The road into this area is a 32km dirt track which is dusty but in good condition, there was minimal traffic.

The waterfall right next to Lao border and in Mekong river in Cambodia's land
Nov 2016 • Family
I would not describe much about our visiting this beautiful place and for those who like to see Mekong river with strong water speed across the border of Cambodia and Lao, this is the right place. Many Mekong river fishes are here and the river is supplying many great resources for both countries.

We will return again for our next visiting Preah Vihear temple and Steung Treng province.

A nice waterfall - but not much else
Aug 2016 • Couples
Also known as Sokpheapmitt Falls on the border with Laos. A nice drive in from the highway and good to couple with a visit to Preah Romkel and the dolphins. We saw it in the wet season with brown not blue water. There is a restaurant with views of the waterfall which served ok meals and cold drinks.

Worth a visit.

This waterfall is on the Mekong River in the Stung Treng Province on the Laos border.
From Stung Treng, you cross over the Meekong on the newly constructed bridge. Takes about an hour but it is a very pleasant drive through the countryside.
There is a restaurant there that serves good meals.
