Worth a visit, made me smile

The sculptures are definitely worthwhile going to see. Some better than others. There's a few that have been taken down to the ground for safety a sign says. I thought they had been vandalised at first. It's a really good walk round there as well, you can go along the river after you've seen the sculptures for a longer walk.

Definitely conversation provoking...

Amazing craftsmanship, especially ‘The Man’s The Gowd’. The Inner Man had an extra written accompaniment to the others, on paper behind perspex, postulating about what happens to the spirits of aborted/unborn children, which might not be theories everyone wants to get into unexpectedly while on a walk with family...

Visit before they all return to nature

Most amazing sculptures in the middle of the woods. Local artist carved trees into thought provoking sculptures. They are now rotting but can still be seen before the return back to nature. This is what the artist wanted. There is a large stone sculpture too.

Lovely woodland trail featuring several excellent wood carvings and sculptures.

Lovely woodland trail featuring several excellent wood carvings and sculptures.

I have to say, I wasn't expecting anything as detailed as this when it was first described to me. The quality of the woodwork and sculptures is excellent - all the more surprising given that it's entirely free.

Free entry/admission, and nearby parking (chargeable).

Good parking as a base for walks in the area

Free parking in a great area for walking trails by the river and up to the lochs

The sculptures have seen better days. They are almost 20 years old and are decaying. Whilst that is part of the art they are past their best
