Location with very shallow, calm waters, but with brown water. We ate delicious shrimp in a restaurant (60.00 as appetizers. They also had crayfish for 100.00 as appetizers. Both meals would be more expensive). But there was only 1 slide for children, Lots of abandoned dogs and cats too, like many places here. Very good service from the restaurant (I forgot the name, I think Barraca Nataly or something like that). But it was worth knowing.

Probably the best place to lear how to kite. Downside very poor structure (bars are super simple and there are no bathrooms).

Cuipe is great to visit to watch the pros in action, but unless you are a pretty damned good kiter, (doing unhooked stuff) it's way too busy (and dangerous) for my tastes during most of the day.
My advice is to get a buggy down to the lagoon really early (before breakfast), get a couple of hours on the lagoon while it's empty, then get the buggy back to your pousada, when everyone starts arriving.
The downwinder to the lagoon is great fun, but be warned that the waves can get pretty big, (2-3M swells) and if you are relatively inexperienced, I would not recommend it, unless you have an instructor with you, to help if you get into any difficulties.
Food and drinks are available, but the

The only good thing of this lagoon is for kiting. Be aware if you don't do kitesurfing. Dirty water and full of plastics everywhere around the lagoon

For kitesurfers nice spot to make kite on a flat water. If you like to kite in a pure nature is a spot to visit.

The lagoon can be quite small and shallow when water levels are low.
It would be an excellent place for kite surfing if the locals organised themselves to make sure water levels are adequate. May be too much to ask...
The wind is perfect: strong and constant.
Kite surfing is the main reason to go. Either to watch the masters (best kiters in the world), or to learn or practise.

I went to the lagoon because I've heard great stories about it. When I had arrived I thought it was a joke. The lagoon was way smaller than I expected. At some spots it was even so shallow you really had to be careful when kitesurfing or you would get stuck. On busy days you can't get in the water without crashing with somebody.

Good thing: there were lots of pros and it was fun watching them doing crazy tricks. The vibe is chill and everybody is easy going :)

The lagoon is small and gets crowded but it's ideal for practicing uncooked tricks and a nice destination for a downwinder from Cumbuco (8km). You can catch a buggy taxi back to Cumbuco (over the beach) which is an attraction on it's own.
You can get drinks and some food there too.
