This church is a hidden treasure of Poland. It wad a small church by the roadside...but the minute you enter the church, one is transported to such beaitiful frescoes in all the walls. How they preserved the frescoes were amazing and everything is made of wood, even the columns on the altar.

The church in Binarowa is one of the oldest and most valuable monuments of wooden religious architecture in Poland. The temple was built around 1500 is one of the most valuable monuments of the Ciężkowice Foothills. The interior is a gallery of decorative art: on the ceilings there are valuable paintings from the beginning of the 16th century, baroque bible cycles on the walls, and a unique polychrome from 1655 in the chapel. The most valuable elements of the church's furnishings are gothic sculptures from the end of the 14th century: the Virgin Mary with the Child and four holy virgins. The paintings, stunning with their colors, were designed to bring the Bible closer to people, and were an interpretation of the rules of conduct. Angels in Binar's church are everywhere, thanks to them the church is simply magical.

UNESCO or not, this building in a small village is worth a tour. You can see wooden fence, wooden little chapel and main wooden building from outside. When you enter, you are in a picturesque world of colors, figures and decorations. Find a guide to explain all different meaning of the paintings. Take a lot of time to see the nartex and two parts of the church inside. Walk around the building, too.

An amazing little wooden church, covered inside with paintings. It will surprise you. The guide is very helpful, but I don't think they speak English. There are leaflets explaining the art inside and the history of the building. We were doing a tour of wooden UNESCO churches and we were considering skipping this church. Don't! This one was truly the most spectacular.
