Terrible and messy
Jul 2019 • Friends
The small boat ride experience was terrible. It seemed like it would capsize anytime. The waves were very high till they almost went into the boat. Each trip took 80 minutes. No safety measures.
Though we had signed up with a tour company,宏星, we were basically on our own. There is no information counter at Cimei. We only saw our tour guide for a minute when the boat reached Cimei. Furthermore, we couldn't hear clearly what she said (how much does it cost to get a loud speaker?) Most of the visitors are the local.
In the end we almost missed the return boat though we reached the departure point 1 hour earlier as there were too many boats at the terminal and there was NO announcement made. Terribly messy.
Nothing to see honestly except the snorkeling if you are not a swimmer and you would like to experience once as it is extremely safe. The snorkeling took about 1 hour.

We enjoyed riding an electric scooter around the island. Hope it could maintain its small island charm without overdevelopment

Crowded but photo beautiful

We were on a local coach tour around Cimei island. It felt that the local tour was too rushed and I couldn’t connect in a deeper level with Cimei but I have tons of beautiful photos to share.

Cimei is a really beautiful island that require longer stay, but most ferries only offers 2hrs stop-over hence the rush.

Recommendation - go for the scooter and explore Cimei on your own!

The unique and beautiful "Double-Heart Stone Tidal Weir" is definitely a best spot for you to travel with your lover.

"Bring on the love"
Mar 2019 • Couples
Departing from the main island of Magong...we took the ferry to Wang-an (1st stop: about 35 min.) & then to Qimei (about 45 min.). The twin hearts weir is located on the north end of island (port is on the south end). You will need to rent a scooter to get to this sight. It only takes 15 min. to drive there but there are several other worthwhile spots you will want to check out. The basalt cliffs are truly breathtaking! **Symbolically, the Twin Hearts represent everlasting love but its practical application was to catch fish by capitalizing on the changing ocean currents. 99 couples got married at this sight in 2005.

We left Magong harbour by ferry at 9.30am, arrived Ci Mei at 11.30am but have to catch return ferry at 1.30pm.
Nevertheless the 2 hour on the island turned out to be very lovely and memorable! We hired a scooter and managed to visit all pictorial sites in leisure.

Small but lovely

If you stay in Magong island, take a half day tour to Cimeyu by ferry from the main port. They offer you a combination "Ferry - bus" to explore Cimeiyu. When in Cimeiyu take better a bike, but be in time for the departure!.

better appreciated with drones. we were trying to take a photo of it and unless you bring wide angle lens not any stance would enable you to capture it.

better seen in photos than in person.

Romantic Spot
Feb 2018 • Couples
This is one of the most romantic spots on earth. Go there with your beloved! From Taipei, there are several flights every day. It costs around $100 per person or a little bit less. You will need to take a boat to reach this island - it's a very small one: you can go around it on a motorbike without hurrying up in ten minutes. Don't eat before taking the boat because the sea is pretty rough and they are always people who throw up (almost 10% in our boat).

It is today an internationally renowned romantic spot, but in truth it wasn't made to be so. It was made by fishermen to catch fish. I am almost sure they don't used it anymore because there are so many tourists coming with a totally different mindset. These tourists would view the act of murdering fish at this place as the most horrible and unromantic one, even if, right after taking a couple of photos, they would order fish balls (a Taiwanese speciality) at the food store fifty meters behind!

One of the "should go" wonders

It is the "双心石滬" that attracts me to this little island at Penghu, which is 40 minutes flight from 高雄. I tried to find tour that would take me to this place however seem the time allowed to stay in Penghu was too short. So finally at the beginning of this summer I took a 5 days trip there. I took a local tour which take me to 七美 望安 these two islands. The tour departed from the famous pier at down town where you can see loads of tourist waiting to get on a jet boat (so no worry you do not have to ride on a small speed boat unless you choose to be on a private tour). In around 90 minutes we arrived 望安. It was a small island where you can visit the old village. After the short tour by bus then we head on to 七美 . There was few stops before we arrived a clip top - overlooking 双心石滬. It was gorgeous on a sunny day ! Even looking from far. This make us appreciate how this was built in the old days when fishing tools were limited. And local people make an effort to keep this technique and re-build them recently. The stay was not too long as we need to head for another stop. If you have time, do stay on the island, and drive your own scooter to have a close look or even walk on it !
