About
This romantic narrow gauge (only 760 mm) railway leading from Tremesna to Osoblaha is located in the Moravian-Silesian region near Jeseniky mountains. During the summer season, you can enjoy special rides in open carriages run with steam locomotive, all operated strictly by volunteers. The train consists also from a beer carriage, bicycle carriage and a special wheelchair accesible carriage. It goes every summer weekend, from Tremesna to Osoblaha and back. The track line is very specific because of the amount of curves - 102 on a 20 km. The track is also used for everyday public transportation when people travel to work or school, this is provided by a diesel locomotive and one carriage.

Perfect experience even when the weather was really bad (5.8.2023). Nice to see the train Malý Štokr. We can recommend the refreshment U Áji at the train station in Osoblaha. The home made food and the kids area U Áji made our family trip really pleasant.

A great train trip to the frontier

It wasn’t a steam day, just a one carriage diesel. Four passengers outwards and eight back. But a lovely ride on this 760mm narrow gauge track through great countryside, some heavy gradients, good birding as you travel and spotted some deer in the fields and I thought even a goshawk. The end of the line is just a hundred yards from Poland and Osoblaha itself an interesting little place. I didn’t get to the Jewish cemetery, not enough time: maybe next visit! Well worth the day out and do go on to Jesenik once you are back at Tremesna as the main line actually takes you into Poland at Glucolazy (unless of course you came that way already).
